Samsung's Digimax i6PMP (PMP stands for Portable Media Player) is a revolutionary 6 Megapixel digital still camera that comes with exclusive Digimax Converter software to play movies and MP3 files. The groundbreaking i6 allows you to enjoy movies, music videos, television shows, and even your favorite music with the added convenience of a state-of-the-art digital still camera. Using the Digimax Converter, you can easily listen to your favorite MP3 files or watch your favorite video content on the large, 2.5-inch LCD color display. This user-friendly software seamlessly converts MPEG, AVI, MOV, WMV, and ASF files for viewing on the i6. It's Really A Camera At Heart

At the heart of the i6 PMP is a compact 6 Megapixel digital still camera measuring a mere 3.7 x 2.4 x 0.7 inches, just a little bigger than a pack of playing cards. For outstanding image quality, the i6 integrates a 3x optical zoom (equivalent to 39-117 mm in 35 mm format) and 5x digital zoom capability with Samsung's exclusive SHD lens technology. To ensure sharpest images at any shooting range, the Auto Macro function automatically adjusts shooting distance and focus. By using the Macro button, you can set the camera to adjust distance and focus from 5 cm (about 2") to infinity. There's also a Super Macro mode that enables you to focus down to as close as 1 cm (about 3/8")! And besides playing video, Samsung's Digimax i6 PMP also makes movies using the high compression, high quality MPEG-4 video format. The i6 can record in VGA (640 x 480 pixels) resolution at 15 or 30 frames-per-second, for smoother video and a bigger view of the movie on either the LCD monitor or a TV screen. For steady videos, the i6 PMP includes a movie stabilizer function that automatically detects and corrects minor lateral and vertical camera movement. For additional shooting control, the continuous video recording function allows you to pause and resume video recording at any time.

No Shake, Rattle And Roll--Ride The Wave

The 1950s rock and rollers Bill Haley And His Comets wouldn't have been very happy with Samsung's state-of-the-art Advanced Shake Reduction (ASR) technology to combat hand shake. The ASR function provides enhanced image clarity by electronically compensating for excess hand shake and improving color in low light conditions where you don't want to use the flash. With the touch of a button, the unique technology uses proprietary algorithms to interpret sharpness and color information to deliver an image that looks like it has been taken with the flash; but since the flash is disabled, side effects such as red-eye are prevented. Also contributing to camera control is the groundbreaking wave-shaped grip that fits perfectly in your hand. This unique design provides upgraded picture taking results and a higher level of satisfaction.

A Mode For All Seasons

No matter what the season or setting, the Samsung i6 PMP has a shooting, scene, function or special effects mode to capture just the image you want. Select Auto shooting mode if all you want to do is point and shoot. Program puts you in control of camera settings. Make your own movies using Movie Clip, and take a memo by selecting Voice Recorder. The 11 scene modes help you get the best shot in specific situations. Choose from Night, Portrait, Children, Landscape, Macro, Text, Sunset, Dawn, Backlight, Fireworks, and Beach & Snow. Nine function modes let you control various camera operations like Auto Flash, Red-Eye Reduction Flash, Flash Off, Slow Shutter Synchro Flash, Continuous Shooting, Exposure Compensation, Custom White Balance, Self Timer, and RGB Adjustment. And finally, there are four special effects--Color, Photo Frame, Highlight, and Composite.

Edit Without A Computer

You don't need a computer for basic image editing with the Samsung Digimax i6PMP; you can do it while the images are still in the camera. Use Trimming to cut away parts of the image you don't want to save. When memory runs short, Resizing can free up some space by saving images in a smaller size. And if you don't like the image's orientation, Rotating turns it whatever direction you want. The i6 has a 45 MB internal memory as well as an SD/MMC memory card slot, earbuds for MP3 listening, a cradle charging system, and a Lithium-ion rechargeable battery.
