AWESOME MEGA POWER...itty, bitty size |
About the diameter of a credit card and less than an inch thick, Sony's DSC-T1 Cyber-shot Digital Still Camera packs a major punch with 5.1 Mega Pixel Resolution that enables it to produce stunning shots of almost any scene in nearly any situation. A big part of the impressive performance of the DSC-T1 is due to Sony's exclusive Super HAD (Hole Accumulation Diode) CCD that provides excellent image quality by allowing more light to pass to each pixel, increasing sensitivity and reducing noise. The ultra-compact and thin size of the DSC-T1 make it the perfect camera to tuck in a pocket or purse for capturing high quality, high resolution photos wherever you go. |

The world renowned optical experts at Carl Zeiss developed the Vario-Tessar lens used in the DSCT1 specifically for compact cameras. Utilizing a highly transmissive optical grade prism, the Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens is able to provide rapid auto focus and impressive zoom range, yet the lens is housed entirely inside the camera and does not extend from the camera body during use. The previously mentioned impressive zoom range gives you an optical zoom of 3x power to help you compose your shots without having to move your body. Sony's Precision Digital Zoom provides an additional 2x magnification without the jagged edges produced by some digital zooms. Even better, Sony also included their Smart Zoom feature that intelligently uses the full CCD to let you zoom into the portion of the picture you want by cropping the image size. Smart Zoom is a smarter way to enlarge your image since it enables you to avoid the image degradation you get with most digital zooms. Composing and sharing playback of your pictures is made much easier and enjoyable by the huge (for this size camera) 2.5" LCD screen that utilizes a unique hybrid design to provide a beautiful high resolution image that's very easy on the eyes, even in bright sunlight. |
Let's Be Perfectly Clear |
By evaluating five separate focus areas of the frame, Sony's Multi-Point AF system can intelligently focus on your subject and avoid mistakes like focusing on an object in the background. In addition, you can manually select a point, or position a point anywhere in the frame with Flexible Spot AF. To help you maintain accurate focus lock with fast moving subjects, Continuous AF keeps focusing from the time the camera is turned on until the moment of exposure, providing properly focused images even when your subject is flying down the road (or streaking across a football field). In low or no-light situations you can use the AF Illuminator that briefly illuminates your subject so your camera can establish a positive focus lock. |
Ready Mr. DeMille! |
The innovative Real Imaging Processor in the DSCT1 not only improves picture quality and clarity but also improves camera response time, decreases shutter lag and improves battery stamina. Sony's 14-bit Digital Extended Processor (DXP) captures the range between highlight and shadow with up to 16,384 values, for extended dynamic contrast. A great way to check out the detail and clarity the DSCT1 is capable of is to have some fun with its macro modes. In standard macro mode you can focus as close as 3.1" (8cm), which is pretty impressive but if you want to really get in close, you'll be thrilled and amazed by Magnifying Glass Mode that allows you to focus on an object only 0.4" (1cm) in front of the lens! That means the little object in front of your lens can be photographed at up to 3x times its size. Are you ready for your close-up? |
This One is Just Right |
With eight scene modes to choose from, it's a simple matter to get great shots in almost any situation. Just select the mode that best matches the scene you want to photograph and the DSCT1 knows just what to do. Since the camera is smart enough to know how to automatically compensate for the challenges associated with different scenes and lighting situations you don't have to fret over the exposure and can concentrate on your composition. Sony also uses an advanced Multi-Pattern Measuring system that independently meters 49 points in the frame, enabling the DSCT1 to obtain the optimum exposure even when highlights and shadows are scattered throughout the scene. When you're really serious about getting just the right shot, you will probably want to take advantage of 3 Shot Auto Exposure Bracketing to take a quick series of shots at slightly different exposures. Then all you have to do is pick the one you like best. Low lighting can be a challenge for digital cameras just like film cameras. The slower the shutter moves, the more likely you are to have some "video noise" (like static on your TV screen) creep into your image. Sony's Slow Shutter Noise Reduction drastically improves the low light performance of the DSCT1 by radically reducing the video noise so you get great shots in situations that would totally baffle the "brain" of a less intelligent digital camera. |
With Sugar on Top |
By now you probably already have a DSCT1 in your shopping cart. If not, you might want to take a moment to do so. They could be gone by the time you're finished reading about some of the other very cool things this Cyber-shot digital camera can do and we don't want you to be bummin because you missed out. Already a phenomenal camera, Sony spread lots of icing on this cake with extras like MPEG Movie VX Fine Modes that enable you to capture VGA (640x480) high frame rate (up to 30 fps) video clips with audio. The maximum length of your video clips is limited only by the capacity of the media you are using. The DSCT1 uses Sony Memory Stick Duo Media which is a high capacity flash media in a more compact size than traditional Memory Stick Media. When you remove the Memory Stick Duo media from the camera, just pop it in the included Memory Stick Duo adapter and it works just like a standard Memory Stick. Another fun way to capture images is with the 3 Shot Burst Mode to capture three shots in quick succession or use Multi-Burst Mode to capture 16 consecutive 320x240 frames as part of a single 1280x960 image that plays back sequentially in the camera or as a single image on your computer. You can select from several frame intervals making this an excellent way to analyze motion like a golf swing, ski jump, high dive or anything else you might want to slow down and take a better look at. For an even better look at your images you can place your DSCT1 on the supplied USB Cradle and use it to make a quick and easy connection to your TV. If you have an available USB port on your computer the DSCT1's USB Cradle is your key to quick and easy transfer of your still images and MPEG video clips. The USB Cradle also supplies power to the DSCT1 for charging its high-performance, long-lasting, rechargeable InfoLithium battery. This sweet little digital camera is creating more buzz than spilled soda on a picnic bench, so snap one up before they disappear like all those memorable moments you're missing out on now. |
