10.1 megapixel powerhouse
The sleek, ultra-slim vertical design of the Cyber-shot® DSCT300 looks like no other digital camera, and fits your lifestyle as easily as it slips into your pocket, briefcase, purse or handbag. A 10.1 megapixel Super HAD CCD gives you more detail and definition when you make big prints or crop in tight on your subject. The advanced Sony Super HAD (Hole Accumulated Diode) CCD design allows more light to pass to each pixel, increasing sensitivity and reducing noise. A 5x optical zoom brings you even closer to the action, for great action shots, distant landscape views and dramatic portraits. An ingenious Carl Zeiss lens design uses internal zooming, so even at full zoom the lens doesn't project beyond the ultra-slim camera body. Macro and Magnifying Glass modes are also provided for super-sharp close-ups and minature hobby photography.
More options for great shots
The DSCT300 features Sony's double anti-blur solution. With Super SteadyShot® image stabilization and high sensitivity (ISO 3200), the DSCT300 compensates for shaky hands, minimizes blur, and allows flash-free shooting to preserve the mood. Another great feature for terrific shots is Face Detection, which recognizes up to 8 faces in a photo and automatically controls focus, exposure, color and flash to bring out the best in everyone. Unlike some competitive systems, Sony Face Detection makes skin tones look more natural and reduces red-eye with pre-strobe flash. In Smile Shutter mode, the DSCT300 helps you capture more smiles by shooting automatically when your subject laughs, smiles, even grins (only when focus is fixed). You select the person to watch and the expression to catch, and your Cyber-shot camera's Face Detection system and intelligent Smile Shutter algorithm do the rest.
Seeing clearly
The DSCT300 puts a huge 3.5-inch widescreen LCD in the palm of your hand, with Clear Photo LCD Plus design that displays photos in superb clarity and natural color, with AR (anti-reflective) coating for excellent visibility even in bright sunlight. To the left and right of the image area on your widescreen display, simple icons allow quick touch-screen operation of essential camera functions. The icons can be switched off to provide a full 16:9 widescreen view of your photos, and the on-screen function guide display helps you learn camera setup operations.
High definition memories
Direct HD output to your Sony Bravia HDTV or other compatible HDTV screen lets you view DSCT300 still photos in spectacular clarity and detail. Optional HD solutions include a Cyber-shot Cradle/charger with component cable input, or component cable directly to your HDTV. It's the high-definition viewing experience that makes photos more entertaining to watch, accompanied by your choice of visual effects and any or four preset musical selections stored in memory or your favorite music downloaded from PC to your camera for use as background music. To use the entire image are of the DSCT300's widescreen LCD and compatible HDTV screens, wide zoom automatically expands standard 4:3 images to 16:9.
More ways to save
The DSCT300 allows you to capture a limited number of images without a flash memory card thanks to its 22 megabytes of internal memory. It's great for traveling or for quick candid snapshots. A built-in slot accepts optional Memory Stick Duo media or Memory Stick PRO Duo media. Memory Stick is the compact, high-capacity storage media that makes it easy to upload photos to your computer or make lab-quality prints at home on your Sony Picture Station digital printer (sold separately).
Capturing the best
Because an off-center subject can make your shot more interesting, the DSCT300 can measure auto-focus precision at 9 points on your screen, giving you greater creative freedom to compose your image. Powered by the exclusive Sony Bionz high-speed processing engine, D-Range Optimization preserves image data in bright highlights and reveals more detail in shadows or backlit areas, for great results even in difficult lighting conditions.
Add that little extra
The DSCT300 lets you add creative effects to photos after you shoot using any of 10 editing functions, including trimming, red-eye adjustment, soft focus filter, unsharp mask, cross filter, partial color filter, fish-eye filter, retro, radial blur and happy face. The happy face effect uses photo retouching to put a smile on faces, with smile levels adjustable from 1 to 5. Irritating glowing eyes can ruin even the most creative photos, but in-camera red eye reduction corrects your photos at the touch of a button to reduce lingering red-eye effects that other systems might miss.
Movies and smart zoom
You can capture movies with the DSCT300. MPEG Movie VX Fine mode captures VGA (640 x 480) audio/video clips at high frame rate (up to 30 frames per second), with length limited only by the capacity of your media. The DSCT300 also helps you get even closer to the subjects you shoot in still photos with its 25x Smart Zoom feature. It intelligently crops into the central portion of interest in your photo, avoiding the image degradation of other digital zooms.
Powerful battery and software included
The DSCT200 provides up to 250 shots with a fully charged NPBD1 Lithium-Ion battery. That's enough shooting capacity to cover a long weekend or a whole vacation. Supplied Picture Motion Browser software makes it easier to burn photos to CD or DVD, add dates to JPEG images, trim photos for transfer to Memory Stick media, and organize images in a convenient calendar view on your PC.
Great modes for better shots
Standard auto focus now covers the macro focus range, eliminating the need to manually change focus modes for close-up photography. The macro mode has not been eliminated, and enabling it accelerates auto focus when shooting at point-blank range. To adjust quickly for specific shooting situations, you can choose from several convenient photo modes, including auto, program auto, and scene selections such as twilight, landscape, soft snap, snow, high sensitivity, and beach environments. In-camera retouching continues with the ability to "paint" decorative borders or graphic stamps like hearts, stars, arrows, and hand drawn words or symbols to add charm and fun to photos you save, print, or send via e-mail (internet connection required).
