World-renowned Zeiss optical systems
Sony's stylish and slim Cyber-shot DSC-TX1 camera with 3" Clear Photo LCD Touch Screen boasts 230 pixels of enhanced image quality in 10.2 megapixels. But what's most exciting about this camera is the inclusion of a Carl Zeiss / Vario-Tessar lens that brings distant subjects closer for video recording as well as for outdoor, sports, and travel photos. Zeiss lenses are heralded as some of the best in the world, and are used in many high-end binoculars and rifle scopes. This Close Focus special lens captures impressive close-ups: Try just under half-an-inch from the subject! By partnering with Zeiss, and by bringing you advanced engineering along with a design that merges the best in optical and processing technologies, the image quality from a Sony camera is higher than ever before.
Exmor R for lightening speed image processing
Thanks to the new back-illuminated "Exmor R" CMOS Sensor, which works in combination with Sony's BIONZ image processor for super-fast processing, it's simpler than ever to get the best shot. More specifically, the Exmor R CMOS sensor provides stunning low-light performance - even without a flash - and is able to reduce photo grain in those instances by up to 50%. This model's high-speed shutter snaps a swift 10 frames per second without distortion, and leaves no stone unturned in the fray of the action. Can't stand to crop a beautiful landscape? With the TX1 you won't sacrifice an inch of choice panorama. With the TX1 press and sweep function, you'll frame broad horizontal or vertical panoramas with ease. That's also comes in handy when a group is large and a room is small. Tired of stills? Quickly switch your TX1 over to movie mode and shoot amazing 720p quality HD video footage.
Fingertip control of the best functions
If a 3" LCD display for expert composition of photographs isn't enough, the Touch Screen also allows total control at your fingertips. Quickly scroll through and operate the TX1 menu with this multi-purpose touch screen, which allows you the ability to select the focus point with a simple touch. Scroll through images by sliding your finger across the screen and one-touch access menu. The display also features improved readability with list view, index view, and new colored icons. It's just a fraction of the many intelligent features and intuitive technology you expect from a Sony Cyber-shot camera.
A face can launch a thousand features
As in other top end Cyber-shot models, the TX1 offers Face Detection technology, Smile Shutter technology, and Optical SteadyShot image stabilization to better each picture. Smile Shutter technology automatically captures a smile the moment it happens. Optical Steady Shot employs a gyro sensor to detect camera shake, then stabilizes the lens for you, while Face Motion Detection suppresses blur in faces and other moving subjects by choosing an optimal shutter speed and ISO sensitivity. Could taking professional-looking photographs get any simpler?
Blur-be-gone
When the TX1 is in Anti-Motion Blur Mode, you capture cleaner, sharper images, even when a subject is moving. Here's how: Owing to a rapid-speed shutter, six images are shot within a fraction of a second. Data from those six images is then automatically combined to create a single image of extraordinary detail that has eliminated subject blur, thereby effectively surpassing the capabilities of most traditional cameras. If that won't convince you, maybe you ought to be shopping for a slab of granite and a chisel to capture memories.
