This unique 225 degree rotation swivel grip puts creative perspectives within easy reach and makes the VLZ3U a very comfortable camcorder to use.

A Better View

Using the VLZ3U Viewcam Z digital camcorder is also easy on the eyes. Sharp uses a special CG Silicon LCD view screen that provides higher resolution and lower power consumption than conventional LCD screens. This 2.5 inch monitor also has low reflective properties that combined with its high resolution produce noticeably superior performance, even in bright sunlight. There may be situations where you are more comfortable using a viewfinder, or want to save power, so Sharp also included a black and white viewfinder.

Rested & Ready

Even if you carry extra batteries (like you should) you want to get the most video from every volt. To help you maximize your power potential, Sharp's VLZ3U Viewcam Z is programmed with an LCD Off Function/Standby Mode that conserves battery power by "resting" between scenes. When you are ready to shoot again, it can awaken from its rest within two seconds. The included lithium ion battery is virtually immune to memory effect, so you can top it off any time without risking damage to the battery. The battery fits neatly within the camcorder body, helping the VLZ3U maintain its slender, subcompact profile.

Up Close and Personal

Following the action is as easy as flexing a finger thanks to the powerful zoom lens of the VLZ3U. The 10 power optical zoom produces a true-to-life, accurate image using high quality lens groups and for super close-ups the digital lens can digitally magnify an image up to 500 times. Digital zoom ratio selection brings even greater control to a zoom lens that's already very easy to use. Sharp puts night time shooting in a different light with Slow Shutter & NIGHT LUMI. Slow Shutter assists you with low light scenes by increasing the camera's sensitivity so the subject appears brighter. NIGHT LUMI overcomes the challenge of recording bright objects like fireworks by automatically adjusting the exposure to achieve true color reproduction.

Hold Still a Moment

The VLZ3U Viewcam Z digital camcorder also gives you the instant gratification of playback with sound. You don't have to hook up to anything else to check out your footage. Watch and listen to your videos moments after you've filmed them right there on your camcorder's viewscreen. While viewing your videos, if you see anything that would make a good picture, you can take advantage of the Digital Camera Feature to capture a still image from the video. Just pause the tape on the frame you want, and press the photo button. Just like that, your digital still image is captured and saved to a memory card. For added convenience, the memory card slot of the VLZ3U accepts both MMC and SD memory.

Getting From Here to There

The memory card slot of the VLZ3U provides an excellent way to store and transfer still images. But, what about full motion video? Sharp provides you with two digital video interface options, plus analog input and output. With the i.Link (IEEE 1394) and USB Digital Video Interface, you can transfer digital video, audio and still images to your computer with speed and ease and even control your camcorder remotely. Analog outputs provide a convenient way to connect to your TV or VCR, while analog inputs enable you to easily convert older videos to digital by dubbing them to your camcorder.
