This Samsung camcorder brings you in close to the action with the help of a 10x optical zoom and 800x digital zoom. That means you can get full resolution out to 10x, and crop in even closer with the powerful 800x digital zoom that can digitally enlarge an image up to 800x. You also get variable speed control with this zoom. It automatically senses the amount of pressure applied to the zoom tab and adjusts the zoom speed accordingly.

Improve Your Image

Samsung has built several features into this camcorder that will help you get the best image possible when you're out recording. Electronic image stabilization minimizes unwanted picture shaking caused by hand movement during recording. A 3.5" TFT active-matrix LCD monitor assures the finest, brightest picture available on an LCD screen, so you have a great view of what you're recording or playing back. It also rotates, which is a huge benefit when you want to get a different angle on a scene, makes viewing your videos easier and even enables you to get in on the action and still monitor your recording.

Take a Picture

The built-in digital still camera on the SCD27 features a photo mode function that gives you the ability to save still pictures onto Memory Stick media (sold separately). The snap-shot feature can record still images for up to 6 seconds to video tape. It is then easy to transfer these still images to your PC. MPEG4 video clip recording can record video clips that have high picture quality yet take up little memory space. Video can be stored directly to your Memory Stick or transfer it to your PC via USB.

Adding Light and Life to Your Images

Power Nite Pix lets you shoot within a near distance under total darkness of 0 lux by using infrared rays emitted from your camcorder. Even brighter images can be achieved by applying Slow Shutter and Nite Pix at the same time. The SCD27 also has 9 digital special effects to add creativity to your recordings. You'll have a blast experimenting with these effects: Art, Mosaic, Sepia, Nega, Mirror, B/W, Emboss, Cinema, and Make-Up.
