See you on the Flip Slide
From the lens to the image sensor to the variety of digital interfaces, every component of a digital camcorder's design is of equal importance. However, while most components serve but one function in the process of recording video, there's one that's crucial throughout your shooting experience — the LCD viewscreen. Whether you're composing, reviewing, editing, or sharing video footage, you look to your digital camcorder's LCD viewscreen for a clear, detailed view of every shot. Accordingly, you need a camcorder with a viewscreen that meets all your needs, from start to finish. You need the innovative SlideHD from Flip. First, at an extra-large 3.0" in size, the SlideHD's LCD viewsceen serves up a broad view of your subjects with the clarity and detail of a 400 x 240-pixel resolution. Now, while the LCD lies flush against the SlideHD's rear panel while you're filming, as soon as you want to review or share a shot, you can set the camcorder face down and slide the LCD into an angled, upright position, enjoying a clear, widescreen landscape view of your footage. Then, slide it back into position, and you're ready to start filming immediately! Discover the Flip that slides . . . the SlideHD from Flip.
Intro to Flip . . . HD
Real quick-like, here's a little Flip 101: Flip digital camcorders are the super-compact camcorders with the flip-out USB jack and pre-loaded software that let you seamlessly upload all your latest video to your computer or sites like YouTube or Facebook. And now, the Flip has gone high definition. That's right, the Flip SlideHD records high definition 1280 x 720 resolution video, capturing all your spontaneous moments with exceptional detail and clarity. Go HD with the flip SlideHD.
It's purdy slick
What's about the size of an audio cassette case and weighs just 5.9 ounces? Chances are, you weren't thinking of a high definition digital camera. Discover the SlideHD camcorder from Flip. At just 2.17" W x 4.13" H x 0.98" D, the Flip SlideHD truly defines portability — it fits easily in your pocket, purse, backpack, glove compartment, or briefcase. And with its 16GB built-in flash-memory drive, the SlideHD equips you to capture a total of four hours of HD video footage. Further, a built-in, rechargeable Lithium-ion battery offers superior power performance. Next, for fast performance, the SlideHD offers a speedy 3-sec power-up time, ensuring that you don't miss the moment.
A trio of features that you'll, well, flip for
Sure, most digital camcorders offer a USB input, allowing you to connect to your computer. Well, that is, if you happen to have a USB cable with you. You see, your computer has a USB input, too, meaning you need a cable with two male connectors to link the two. As you might already imagine, the Flip SlideHD is not like "most digital camcorders." Delivering fast, simple, universal connectivity to your computer, the SlideHD sports a flip-out USB jack. Because the SlideHD offers an output, or male, USB connector, all you need is the Flip camcorder itself, no cable is necessary. Okay, so the Flip SlideHD is connected to your computer . . . now, here's where things really get fun: Using pre-loaded FlipShare software, the SlideHD lets you accomplish a variety of tasks, all at the touch of only a couple buttons. Browse, play back, organize, or archive your videos. Instantly load them to Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, or other sharing sites. Create movies with video clips, music, and titles. Edit clips and create still shots from video. You can even email videos to friends and family. Finally, the integrated mini HDMI output is ideal for premiering your latest footage on your HDTV without the bother of first having to transfer video to a computer and then to a disc. Go ahead, flip out.

In all honesty, I like this camera alot. The high price tag is a little off-putting, but the unit is solid. As with all flip cameras that Ive dealt with, the build quality is excellent.
However, for a vlogger, the lack of an actual record button kinda sucks, but its not a deal breaker. Playback is great, but I wish the touchscreen was more responsive in menus and such. Other than that, awesome camera. Also, the addition of the headphone jack on the bottom there isnt one on the Mino is nice for reviewing clips if your on a plane or recording somewhere quiet, or if you need to hear precisely the audio captured.
But, like all flip cameras, super easy to just pick up and use and the video quality is excellent for 720p. Overall, a good buy.

No single camera is perfect for everyone. But this Flip camera is perfect for me. A person just needs to decide which features are most important. For me, a small portable design is most important. The Flip leads the pack in very small, iPod or cell phone-sized, video cameras. In addition, the video quality is very good for such a small design. But if video quality is most important to you, get a camera with this in mind.
My observation is that I see everyday people buy bigger cameras for their video quality. But often the camera doesnt come out as often because its big and bulky. However, the Flip camera fits in your pocket. As a result, it travels more often, and is their for more moments to be caught on film.

Pros
The ability to watch your videos on the 3 screen is very handy.
The ease of use, video quality are excellent.
Cons
The touch screen vs actual buttons on other Flip video cameras is much harder to use. Without actual buttons you dont have the tactile feel of the button and you cant really hold your finger on the back while recording.
Needs better controls for volume during video playback.
Conclusion
The SlideHDs large screen for watching your videos is great but the trade trade-off is that its a little harder to use because of the lack of actual buttons. It really comes down to how you would use the camera. If you are more likely to watch your videos right after recording, the SlideHD is for you. If instant playback is not as important to you, then one of the other less expensive models of Flip camera may be a better fit.
