Question Yourself--In A Good Way |
| When it comes to choosing a home theater system, you need to consider some crucial questions. Will it easily connect to existing TVs and high definition displays with 720p/1080i quality? Can it readily accept all your home entertainment components and switch among DVDs, CDs, MP3s, broadcast programming, and game software? Does it draw from an amplification design that can add power and vitality to your entertainment experience? Will it easily fit into, and perform in, virtually any room? On top of that, can you wall-mount your speakers with 4-axis tilt capability? The HTSR600 5.1-channel receiver/speaker package provides a compelling yes without burdening you with the price tag carried by more complex separate components and 7.1 speaker systems. |

No Hard Landings On The Noise Floor |
| Onkyo's High Current Power Supply (H.C.P.S.) concept ensures that you'll always have power available to respond to the wide dynamics of surround sound. To complement this power capacity, it's essential to limit the effects of signal noise. When the sound is attenuated, the audio signal drops close to the noise floor at low volumes, tainting the signal. The noise that results is magnified when the signal is amplified. Onkyo's Optimum Gain Volume Circuitry adjusts the gain so that less than half the standard amount of attenuation is necessary. The signal never comes close to the noise floor, eliminating the possibility of the noise found in conventional volume-attenuation designs. |

High Definition Times Three |
| With three HD component video inputs, the HTSR600 lets you have up to three of today's latest A/V components--think DVD/universal players, cable/set-top boxes, DVRs, and gaming consoles such as the Xbox and PlayStation--connected simultaneously and switched for a single output to the latest flat-panel and rear-projection displays. And with bandwidth out to 50 MHz, each component video input has more than enough space to pass a 720p or 1080i signal (each requiring at least 37 MHz of bandwidth) to a high definition display. |
As If By Magic |
| DTS Neo:6 5.1 is an advanced matrix decoder that takes any two-channel (stereo) source (say, a VHS tape, a television broadcast, a CD, or a DVD) and expands it into a surround sound field for a 5.1-channel system. It also provides separate, optimized modes for stereo music materials and matrix surround motion picture soundtracks. An equivalent technology from Dolby Digital, Pro Logic II, also brings you multichannel sound from regular stereo, for a more expansive home cinema experience. |

CinemaFILTER Puts Soundtracks In Their Place |
| The tonal balance of a film soundtrack can be edgy and bright when played back over audio equipment in your home. This is because film soundtracks are designed to be played back in large theaters using heavy-duty equipment. CinemaFILTER restores the correct tonal balance for watching a movie soundtrack in your smaller home theater. CinemaFILTER can be used with DTS and Dolby listening modes, and is easily activated from your remote control. Also, if you use the OR-EQ equalizer button, you'll get a more powerful, direct sound from movie sources. |

You Won't Need Ernestine To Connect You |
| Although it might look like the old manual telephone switchboard used by Lily Tomlin's gum-chewing and snorting Ernestine character from Laugh-In in the 1970s, rest assured that the HTSR600's receiver's rear panel is designed so you can connect it easily to your A/V components and speakers. Component video inputs/output are conveniently located on the top left of the rear panel, as are the digital inputs for Dolby and DTS surround signals. These are supplemented by color-coded 5.1-multichannel inputs that can connect to compatible HD DVD, Blu-ray, Super Audio CD, and DVD-Audio players to receive the audio output from high-definition discs. |

Got An iPod? Play It Here |
| Look around you. iPods are everywhere, and they continue to revolutionize modern media. By connecting the HTSR600 to either of Onkyo's optional RI (Remote Interactive) Docks (not included), you can integrate most iPod models into your home theatre system. You'll also be able to take advantage of Onkyo's RI technology for greater iPod control through your system remote. |
