Simple and Precise

This World Band Radio (WBR) uses PLL Quartz Frequency Synthesized Digital Tuning to provide extremely accurate tuning with optimum stability and minimal station drift. Whether you're tuning in stations across town or around the world, this WBR makes tuning in a desired station simple and precise. With Step Tuning, you can achieve precise station reception quickly and easily by tuning at 1kHz or 5kHz intervals.

Wide Ranging

You can listen to a wide range of frequencies at home and abroad, including Long Wave (LW) frequencies below the conventional AM band, and Short Wave (SW) frequencies up to 26100kHz. With such a wide range of listening options, you will really appreciate the ability to program up to 50 memory presets. To help you navigate through all those presets, the file is divided into five pages with up to 10 stations per page. This makes it easy to categorize your presets and tune them in automatically with fingertip ease.

Seeking a Signal

With all the choices you have available, you may not be sure where to start. That's when the various scan abilities come in handy. Memory Scan will scan through your preset stations one at a time and let you listen for a few seconds so you can decide whether you want to stop on that station, or let scanning continue. Variable Attenuator (ATT) Control for Scan Tuning allows you to vary the amount of signal attenuation so the scan feature will only stop at stations with sufficient signal strength to allow enjoyable listening.

Easy to Enjoy Everywhere

Thoughtful extras built into this world band radio make it easy to enjoy everywhere you go. The backlit LCD display provides a digital frequency readout of the station you've selected that's easy to read even in the dark. If you would prefer to conserve your battery power when listening indoors or on the road, Sony has an optional AC power adapter available as well as a car power adapter (sold separately). You may also want to pick up a set of headphones so you take advantage of the built-in headphone jack for those times you wish to enjoy more private listening.
