Wood Is Tasteful, Plastic Can Be Tacky
Tivoli uses wood where others use plastic. You can't get much more top of the line than Tivoli Audio's Music System AM/FM stereo radio with CD player. The rich character of the sophisticated design and real wood cabinet is equalled by the performance of one of the finest digital tuners available and the integrated dual 3-inch speakers plus a down-firing, rear bass ported powered subwoofer. The Music System is elegantly simple to operate but state of the art on the inside, delivering full and expansive stereo sound. A built-in single-disc, slot-loading CD drive plays audio CDs as well as home-burned CDRs and CDRWs encoded with MP3 or WMA files. The tuner has six presets each for AM and FM stations. And there's an auxiliary input for your iPod or other portable audio player. The LCD can also be set to static or scrolling text when displaying CD Text and RDS (Radio Data Service) information.
More Than Radio And CDs
You can do more with Tivoli's Music System than just listen to the radio and CDs. The stereo minijack auxiliary input on the back panel lets you connect your iPod other audio device. Also on the back is the mix input minijack that allows you to hear an external device like your computer or TV intermixed with either the Music System's radio or CD playback. The external device's volume must be adjusted at the source. Finally on the back is the fixed-level record output minijack used to connect to an external recording device. The speakers are not muted when using the record output. On the front panel is a stereo headphone minijack that does mute the speakers when used. There's a treble control on the front panel and a bass control on the back panel. And you can select mono, stereo, or SpacePhase Wide EQ--for a more three-dimensional, expanded soundstage--audio settings.
Wake Up, Wake Up
On top of all its great sounding audio functions, the Tivoli Audio Music System will also wake you up to a tone, AM, FM, CD, or external device. Actually, it will wake two of you up--or wake you up twice, I suppose--since there are dual independent alarms, each with independent volume settings that can be different from the normal listening volume. A sleep timer lets you drift off to dreamland; and, as soon as the room goes dark, an automatic sensor adjusts the brightness of the LCD display. Two AA batteries keep the clock alive so the alarm will sound even if the power goes out.
