For years, you've toyed with the idea of creating a whole-home audio system. Each with a dedicated digital amplifier, the two tweeters, two midrange drivers, and single woofer combine to serve up impressive, room-filling audio.

Thanks to the Play 5's innovative design, you can combine the two — your iPod touch or iPhone's functionality and your Sonos whole-home audio system. By simply downloading a free Sonos Controller App from Apple, you can use your iPhone or iPod touch to control your Sonos audio system. Further, because the iPod touch and iPhone are wireless-capable, you can even listen to your iTunes playlists via your Sonos system. And if you're using the iPhone, you can receive text messages or phone calls without interrupting the music. Like we said, you're in control.

Holy plethora of music sources, Batman!

We're not kidding: the Sonos Play5 supports so many audio sources, it's almost embarrassing. Almost. Not only can you listen to your iTunes when using your iPod touch or iPhone as the Controller (as mentioned above) but you can access any music source connected to your home audio system. This means music on your computer, a media server, or other connected portable audio player, in formats ranging from MP3 and WMA, to AAC, Ogg Vorbis, Flac, and AIFF, just to name a few. And then, if your home network is connected to the internet, you're able to access audio from sources like Deezer, Napster, Pandora, Rhapsody, and SIRIUS Internet Radio. Speaking of internet radio, the Play5 comes pre-loaded with 25,000 stations. That's right: twenty-five thousand. And, of course, if you have a traditional CD player or even a turntable connected to your home system, you're free to enjoy these sources across your home.
