You can stop dreaming of wireless streaming
Leave your friends in the Stone Age and stop limiting yourself to isolated audio. What is isolated audio? When you have to go to a different room or turn on a different audio component to listen to anything in particular, you have isolated audio. Want to listen to your digital music in the garage, but your computer is in the home office? How about internet radio in the kitchen, or satellite radio in the backyard, but you don't have a device to play these music formats in those places? This all may sound familiar, but now that you've purchased a Denon S-52 wireless networked radio, such dilemmas are a thing of the past. Provided you have a wireless internet connection at home, your new S-52 allows you to wirelessly stream audio from any device connected to your network. If all you have is an internet connection, satellite music subscription and music downloads on your computer, cool, you'll be enjoying all these formats on your S-52, from any room. Now, if you also have select other Denon audio components (the AVR-4308, S-302 and S-32) you can also wirelessly stream audio from any of these sources, too. Walls mean nothing with Denon wireless-network audio streaming and the S-52.
Many formats in many places
Because connectivity of your audio system is the modus operandi of your new S-52, it has been designed to support a vast array of audio formats. Denon knows that you've got compressed-digital-audio-files-galore on your computer, and so they've got you covered. The S-52 supports AAC, MP3, WAV, WMA and FLAC audio. If you haven't had a chance to transfer files from a thumbdrive to your computer, simply hook the thumbdrive directly to the USB port on the front of the S052 and you're ready to listen. With the easy navigation provided by a high-contrast graphic LCD and multi-task jog wheel, you'll be enjoying your boundless digital audio collection from anywhere — be it the kitchen, the garage or the backyard.
It's got a docking station, but it isn't quite a space station
Your iPod® is great for taking your personal digital audio collection with you any place you go. But, there's no reason that your own home shouldn't be one of those places. Your new S-52 agrees. Featuring an easy plug-and-play iPod dock built right into the top of the S-52, jamming out to your favorite tunes from your portable at home is as easy as hooking your iPod to your S-52.
Um, yeah, they're still around. . . CDs, that is
Hey, it's no secret. Some of your favorite music is still on the CDs you bought before this whole "compressed-audio-portable-device-iThis-iThat" thing came to town. You certainly aren't going to let them collect dust, and the S-52 isn't either. A single-disc CD player supporting CD, CD-R and CD-RW lets you get those compact disks a-spinnin'.
And now for the speakers we are talking about audio, after all
Smart Sound. This is how Denon describes the 20W speaker system designed into the S-52. Smart Sound means powerful and dynamic sound reproduction built with the same level of serious and passionate engineering built in to all Denon electronics. A mono-out audio output allows the use of a separate subwoofer should you want to enhance the low-frequency output of audio played on your S-52.
Note on product photography
The main image of the S-52 shows the inclusion of an iPodˊ solely to illustrate the iPod docking feature. Purchase of the S-52 does not include an iPod.
