Set The Music Free |
Now you can play all your favorite digital music, all over your house, on all your favorite audio equipment -- your home theater receiver, stereo system, powered speakers, and more. Just connect a Sonos ZonePlayer 80 (ZP80) to any amplified audio device in any room, and that device is instantly and seamlessly part of a wireless, multi-room digital music system. Which means you can use the full-color Sonos Controller (sold separately) to wireless control your music from the palm of your hand. You can also use a ZP80 to retrofit a conventional audio system with home-run speakers or as a wireless extender to increase the wireless range of your Sonos system. No matter where or how you use the amazingly compact ZP80, the digital and analog outputs will deliver superior sound to every room. And because the ZP80 is so compact, you can put it just about anywhere. You can connect up to 32 ZonePlayers throughout your house -- combining the ZP80 and the ZP100 with built-in amplifier -- for the ultimate in multi-room music. |
Wireless, Multi-Room Digital Music |
ZonePlayers can go anywhere and connect wirelessly when a wired Ethernet connection is not available. ZonePlayers and Controllers will establish their own secure wireless mesh network. NOTE: The first ZonePlayer you install must connect to your home network using a standard Ethernet cable. SonosNet technology is a secure AES encrypted, peer-to-peer wireless mesh network that streams music wirelessly to other ZonePlayers, avoiding sources of wireless interference while ensuring synchronous music playback. Multi-zone synchronous playback plays the same song simultaneously in up to 32 different zones (extra ZonePlayers required) without echoes or delays. Multi-stream playback plays different songs simultaneously in up to 32 different zones. |
Superior Audio Quality and Ease-of-Use |
Designed to connect to an internal amplifier, the ZP80 seamlessly integrates your home theater and other audio devices into your Sonos multi-room digital music system. The ZonePlayer 80 gives you automatic wired or wireless setup. You can initialize your new ZP80 with the press of a single button. The expandable system design allows you to expand your digital music system room by room. Sonos system software supports English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. The ZP80 fits in spaces where traditional stereo components and shelf systems cannot. It's so small, it fits almost anywhere. A front panel volume control provides quick and easy access to volume and mute controls when you don't have a Controller in hand. |
Supports Multiple Music Formats |
The ZP80 plays music from your personal digital music collection, music services, Internet radio, or all of the above. It accesses music stored on up to 16 PCs, Macs or NAS (Network Attached Storage) devices on your home network, as well as music services and Internet radio stations, and even CD or MP3 players connected to a ZonePlayer. The ZP80 supports compressed MP3, WMA (including purchased Windows Media downloads), AAC (MPEG4), Ogg Vorbis, Audible (format 4), Apple Lossless, Flac (lossless) music files, as well as uncompressed WAV and AIFF files. You get native support for 44.1kHz sample rates, and additional support for 48kHz, 32kHz, 24kHz, 22kHz, 16kHz, 11kHz, and 8kHz sample rates. (Apple "Fairplay" and WMA Lossless formats are not currently supported) |
Supports Multiple Media Sources |
The ZonePlayer 80 plays Internet radio stations using streaming MP3 or WMA formats. ZonePlayer comes with over 300 pre-programmed radio stations and it's simple to add more via the Sonos Desktop Controller (sold separately). Music from an external audio source (such as a CD player, radio or MP3 player) connected to a ZP80 can be played by all other ZonePlayers in the system. You get support for music services like Rhapsody 3.0+ and downloads from: AOL Music Now, Audible.com, eMusic, Napster, URGE, Wal-Mart, Yahoo! Music Unlimited, and Zune Marketplace. Playlists from Rhapsody, iTunes, WinAmp, Windows Media Player and MusicMatch (.m3u, .pls, .wpl) can also be played. |
Other Cool Features |
The ZP80 gives you some extra features that you're sure to appreciate, like an alarm with clock, snooze, sleep timer and scheduler features. Set the alarm to wake up to your favorite music or Internet radio station in one room or all over the house. Fall asleep to soothing music with the sleep timer. Use the scheduler to play music at a specific time for a set duration (great for that 30-minute workout). Automatic library indexing lets you schedule your library to automatically update on a daily basis. This is ideal for updated podcasts and Audible content. The ZP80 has two Ethernet ports that can be used to connect other devices to the home network through SonosNet. |
