I'm running a pair of B&W PM1 speakers off a Marantz PM8004 integrated amp, and mostly enjoying music from iTunes and my iPhone in my den. I thought my iPhone sounded good running into the Marantz Aux RCA plugs, but picked one of these D1 DACs as an Open Box deal and figured if I didn't like it I would just send it back. I can't believe the difference. I know I shouldn't be surprised, as the DAC used in the iPhone isn't special, but I really didn't expect much of a difference. I'm very skeptical when it comes to expensive audiophile stuff, like $1000 power cords and $5000 speaker cables - I just don't think that stuff does anything. But this D1 made a huge difference over just running the iPhone into the amp. Everything on the computer just sounds so much better...more airy, more presence, wider soundstage, more depth. Listening to Pandora over the computer and having the sound come out of my speakers is a real pleasure, and the sound quality is fantastic. I'm very pleased, and even more so having paid the Open Box discounted price - the D1 I received looks flawless, in a complete package. Very cool, thanks Vanns!

This DAC Digital to Analog Converter is a great product. The product is easy to set up and is aesthetically pleasing. Due to its small footprint, it can be tucked away somewhere out of sight. I power the unit by connecting the provided USB cable to my Blu-ray player. I leave the DACs main power button on so that when the player powers up or down, the DAC does too. I have been highly pleased with this units performance in taking digital input through the digital optical input from the Blu-ray player and converting it into high output analog signal for my stereo receiver. When using the unit as a headphone amplifier I was blown away by the power and depth that my ear buds could provide.
