12 channels, 360W . . . all at your disposal
You've finally created a true "home audio system". You don't just have a home theater system, you've got in-ceiling and in-wall speakers installed all over the place — hallways, walk-in closets, bathrooms, the kitchen — allowing you to enjoy all your favorite music, no matter where you are. How to power all those speakers, though? The Sonance SONAMP 1230 power amplifier sports 360W of output power for its 12 channels, for 30W-per-channel of power. Combine this with a variety of configuration options, and you have a versatile power solution for light distributed-audio applications.
Setup options for your system
The combination of the SONAMP 1230's twelve direct input source jacks, three bus line-in jacks, and channel-bridging ability offers you a versatile array of system configuration options. Power up to six stereo zones at 30W and send independent or shared source audio to each. Bridge five pair of 30W outputs to power a 5-channel home theater system with 60W per channel, and still have two 30W channels left over for a second zone in another room. From here, your options are endless. Bridge channels when you need to send extra power to a particular zone. Share source input across multiple zones to enjoy the same audio as you move about the house. You're in charge of customizing the SONAMP 1230's performance to your needs.
Three ways to power on
With its power trigger controls, the SONAMP 1230 gives you three options for automatically activating the unit. Select the Auto-On feature, and you can set the SONAMP 1230 to automatically power on when it senses a set minimum signal level, or to power off after eight minutes of no input signal. Choose voltage control, and the SONAMP 1230 is activated in the presence of DC or AC voltage from 5V to 20V. Finally, by choosing the bypass setting, you set the unit to always be active, ready to fuel your home audio experience.
Going for gold
Ensuring high-conductivity and low-corrosiveness for high-performance, enduring audio reproduction, the Sonance SONAMP 1230 uses gold plating on its line inputs and five-way binding posts.
Keeping the volume in balance
Adding yet another level of control over your home audio experience, the SONAMP 1230 offers individual channel volume controls. With these controls, you can balance desired sound levels for all your various zones, and compensate for room characteristics such as size and ceiling height by balancing output from right and left channels. Further, by reducing the SONAMP volume control settings, you can compel the source preamp or receiver volume control to operate in the middle of its range. In the end, you have advanced control over your system's volume levels.
