Marantz doesn't fool around

It also utilizes Marantz's proprietary Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module, or HDAM, at critical analog circuit junctions to insure smooth and ultra-fast signal transfer from one stage to another. The high quality D/A converters come from tried and trusted Cirrus Logic, and they're capable of handling high definition audio data streams (DSD and 24-bit/192 kHz PCM signals) without losing one single ounce of composure. And, for those of you who need the audio signal pumped directly into your eardrums, a current-buffer headphone amplifier is included for extraordinary sound quality.

Because pure doesn't mean forgoing future technologies

The dreaded MP3 format. Compressed to death in the ears of many aficionado. But often, the key to bliss is acceptance. In fact, in many contexts compressed formats like MP3 prove to be extremely convenient (or impossible to avoid). For example, imagine a friend arrives with some music selections of their own. For ease, they've quickly copied some MP3 or WMA files from their computer or MP3 player onto a CD disc or thumb drive. No problem — in addition to SA-CD and CD audio, the Marantz SA8004 supports SA-CD, CD-DA, MP3, WMA, WAV, and AAC audio formats, and it even has a front panel USB port for rapid deployment. External dependability

While the design and construction of the SA8004's internal components ensures high-fidelity audio performance, the same can be said of this SA-CD player's external chassis design. Constructed of double-layered bottom chassis, the SA8004's framework delivers isolation from external vibration as well as from electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference. And if you're tired of trying to shoe-horn your audio connectors into the component's terminals . . . apparently Marantz was too. That's why they built the SA8004 with widely-spaced terminals. Plus, they're gold-plated brass (i.e. highly conductive) with a zero impedance copper ground plate and chassis mounted, so it won't feel like you're going to rip the guts out of the SA8004 when you attach or detach a connector.
