This full HD 1080p A/V receiver features five HD inputs (three passive HDMI™ and two component) so you can take full advantage of all your HD components. In addition, the STR-DH500 is compatible with 24p True Cinema™ video signals and decodes uncompressed audio formats including Dolby Digital and dts decoding.

With satellite-radio readiness, you have a world of digital radio at your fingertips. Sign up for Sirius subscription service and enjoy the variety and quality of satellite radio with the superior sound quality of an A/V receiver. In addition to stereo, you can enjoy 5.1 surround broadcasting. Sony's DIGITAL MEDIA PORT plays back music from various audio sources whether it is stored on an iPod®, Walkman, Bluetooth device, or PC (Player and cradles not included).

Blu-ray disc player audio decoding

Your 5.1-Channel STRDH500 receiver is optimized for Blu-ray Disc® and other HD Sources. It provides superior video switching and audio performance that will work with many of today's demanding HD sources. Three High Definition Media Interface (HDMI) inputs are capable of accepting resolutions up to 1080p, offering the full video quality that Blu-ray Disc format can deliver. And with Sony's HDMI "Active Intelligence," the receiver can detect and receive the best possible video and audio signals from all connected devices, making connection and performance as simple as plugging in a single wire (HDMI-compatible HDTV required). For audio, the STRDH500 offers full compatibility with Blu-ray Disc format's linear PCM (uncompressed) output, producing up to eight channels of high-quality audio reproduction.

One Touch Play

With "One Touch Play," operations that took several steps have been reduced to one. Press the PLAY button on the remote, watch the A/V receiver turn on, then the DVD player power on and start to play, finally the BRAVIA television turns on and switches to the correct video input.
