Your system, your way
The flagship model of Denon's IN-Command Series, the AVR-3312CI is designed to provide the flexibility you need for your home theater system. On the input inside, it has 7 HDMI inputs and 2 outputs with Deep Color, x.v.Color, auto lipsync, 3D passthrough, and an Audio Return Channel. Additionally, it has a healthy mix of composite, component, S-video, digital audio, and stereo audio inputs to facilitate all of your legacy components. There's also a front USB port that allows a direct connection to your iPod or a flash drive. A LAN port offers even more entertainment options, allowing to access media from DLNA-compliant devices (including many Windows 7 PCs), content providers like Rhapsody, Napster, Flickr, and Pandora, and even Apple devices using AirPlay. Better yet, if you have an iOS device like an iPhone, you can download the Denon Remote App, which will give you control over the basic functions of your receiver through the network. Once the signal gets to the receiver, advanced processing from both Denon and third-parties like Audyssey optimize your audio and video for the most immersive theater experience possible. When it comes to output, 7 channels with 125 Watts of power each are at your disposal. Choose from a traditional 7.1- or 7.2-channel setup, front height channels with Dolby Pro Logic IIz, or even front width channels from Audyssey DSX. Meanwhile, Zone 2 and Zone 3 audio pre-outputs with 3-source capability let you enjoy audio in other rooms, plus Zone 2 supports video! Whatever your desired setup, this advanced receiver is sure to oblige.

I purchased this unit from Vanns clearance outlet. The price was too good to pass up. I bought this to replace an Onkyo TX NR808 receiver that I also purchased from Vanns. The sound quality is superior to the Onkyo AND the Denon has power to spare which I did not find to be true about the Onkyo. The Denons discrete amps are fantastic. Even the Audyssey MultiEQ is superior to the Onkyo. The only fault that I could find with the Denon is that GUI does not overlap the source the way Onkyo and Yamaha does. Also if you do not have any prior knowledge of setting up an HDMI receiver it can be a little tedious. I highly recommend this unit.

I use the 3312ci as a pre and output to power amp for all channels. 3312ci has lots of customization options so you can shutoff internal amp to clean up signal, 2 additional zone, and some good appz both native and 3rd party that allow you to create a good whole home av system. Works well with our sources and functions well on the network and online content. Large community online for quick support to boot.

Readers may find this review somewhat different as it highlights the very capable networking aspects of this AV receiver. I was initially skeptical about this receiver but after doing extensive research in preparation for replacing my 5-year old JVC RX-D702B I decided to go for it. To say that I'm most pleased with the Denon 3312s performance would be a gross understatement. It is one of the easiest to use and most flexible AV receivers I've ever had the pleasure to enjoy. My music library consists of thousands of FLAC encoded CD albums, LPs, HQ Cassettes, and HD music albums all located on a couple of home network NAS servers. In the past I've been dependent on external media players - no more! In many ways I am a Luddite in that I refuse to be dependent on external streaming sources which the Denon accommodates very well by the way and instead depend upon my home network for access to music, video and pix libraries. I abhor iTunes and Windows Media Player WMA and prefer much more direct access to my media. Imagine my delight when the Denon not only immediately recognized my servers but also allowed me to burrow deep into their submenus to pull up whatever I wanted. That capability was complemented by the Denon communicating directly with my Toshiba notebook computer through a browser widow! I was to discover that there was no need for me to use iTunes or WMA but perhaps most importantly I did not need to burns hours off the projection lamp on my large screen DLP TV or have my other iMac computers up to deliver media to my home theatre. Yep, I'm a Mac person. Other functions like HD and internet radio, remote control device programming, HDMI input assignments, and room equalization were easy to program and fun to use. Oh yes, I almost forgot to mention audio reproduction is very, very good. Very highly recommended.

I had replaced my HK AVR 235 purchased from Vanns in 2005 with Denon 3312CI last week. I have 7.2 channel speakers system from Infiniti which I had connected to my Denon 3312CI. Setting up the receiver has been flawless using their Audyssey automatic speaker setup system. It took me an hour to complete the setup and powering on the unit. I was extremely pleased with the power and clarity of this receiver driving my old speaker system. Initially I thought of changing my speaker system but after connecting the speakers to Denon, I changed my mind. I was able to hear a great deal more detail to all the music, movies, and streamed music than I had before on my older HK AVR system using the same speaker setup. Updating the firmware was easy as letting it check for updates. Once you click yes, it downloads the update and applies automatically rebooting the receiver and displaying the download percent and estimated time of update. Out of the box Airplay feature is extremely helpful. I could connect all of my Apple appliances Ipod, Ipad, Itouch to Denon and play the songs with just one click. Drove this receiver at peak sounds and there is no distortion and noise in the sound quality. Balancing sounds at extremely low frequency was very good as well. Above all, I got a extremely good deal after calling the customer service @ Vanns and I AM A EXTREMELY SATISFIED WITH THIS PURCHASE.
