Got this in a bundle with energy take classic 5.1 speakers for a great price. the receiver seems good, but is apparently incompatible with my motorola FIOS dvr box. after attaching all hdmis in, had no output from dvr, apparently due to hdmi hdcp hanshake issues between the two devices, or maybe cables, or whatever. got no real help from denon, one good tech, one who didnt seem to really care. no help from fios tech either. denon just says their receiver is fully hdcp compatible. it seems its a motorola software issue. so the dream of one hdmi cable to my set is just that, a dream. have a workaround solution now with second hdmi direct to tv and optical to avr for sound, but no avr onscreen menu because of this bypass. got a possible hdcp reset solution from the tech that i havent tried yet, after 2 initial days of trying to get things to work. all in all a good receiver, but unsure if id do it again.

Ordered the Denon AVR-1612 online and recieved it very quickly...like in three days. I was excited about upgrading my old reciever. After hook up...I was impressed with everything. The sound was incredible and the picture from my Sat dish was amazing. Then a few days later, I played a Blu Ray on my PS3. Initially looked good but then the picture and sound started to studder. I thought it was the disk so I tried another....did the same thing. Tried a third...again same thing. I reluctantly returned the Denon and went with an Onkyo tx-nr609. I have had no issues with the Onkyo at all.

Great product for the money. I got in on a 20 discount to boot. If you arent going for the 7 speaker set up, this Denon performs very well. I use it in my bedroom and have a 3312 for the family room. Love them both.

Solid piece of equipment. The Auddessy set up is excellent and very accurate. The USB port in the front means, that for music, you no longer need a dock, although I wish the port were in back just for a neater look.
The gui is clean and functional and appears at surprising, and useful times. The ARC is great!
As for sound it is very clean and life like. For music it is just excellent, for movies it delivers nice tight sound with all the possible swirls while keeping dialogue intelligible!
Very happy with the product and I was nervous It replaced a more powerful Yamaha
