Connecting With Quality |

| To help ensure the highest quality from your entertainment sources, Onkyo provided the TXSR505 with a full range of quality connections, including two HDMI pass-through inputs. With two HDMI inputs and one output, the TXSR505 is the perfect compliment for high-definition displays and media. It will effortlessly transport and enable the full potential of Blu-ray, HD-DVD, DVD, HD broacasts, and gaming. HDMI will deliver 720p, 1080i, and 1080p video signals from two sources for one connection direct to your HDTV. Its 1080p pass-through capability is perfect for getting the highest possible video resolution from PlayStation 3 and dedicated Blu-ray Disc and HD-DVD players. In addition, there are three component video inputs, four composite, and three S-Video inputs. All the component connections feature component video switching. The amount of bandwidth needed to pass a component video signal depends on the video source you are using -- to pass a progressive-scan DVD signal a receiver needs component bandwidth of at least 12 MHz, and a progressive HDTV requires approximately 30 MHz of bandwidth for flawless transfer. The TXSR505's 50-MHz bandwidth is much greater than the 37 MHz needed for 720p and is more than enough for the clearest reproduction of the latest video signals. There are also 3 optical and 1 coaxial digital audio inputs, and 2 audio inputs. |

| The TXSR505 has the onboard codecs to effectively reproduce stereo and multichannel sources in enveloping 6.1 or 7.1 surround sound. Also, by connecting a compatible HD-DVD or Blu-ray Disc player with 5.1- or 7.1-line level outputs to the TXSR505's 7.1-multichannel inputs, you'll be able to experience surround sound from Blu-ray and HD-DVD discs. |

| The TXSR505's Audyssey 2EQ high-sensitivity microphone picks up test tones at your favorite listening spot, and then an acoustic analyzer adjusts the sound pressure level and time delay of each channel. Test tones are output through each speaker and detected by the microphone. This ensures that each channel is delivered synchronously, so you get the most accurate frequency response from your favorite listening spot. Easily calibrated and completed in just minutes, Audyssey 2EQ is also useful if you decide to switch listening rooms, or even move to another home. |

Optimum Gain Volume Circuitry |
|
| Conventional volume attenuation methods must initially drop a signal close to the noise floor at low volumes. Even though the signal is only tainted with a little noise, the amount increases when the signal is amplified. Onkyo's Optimum Gain Volume Circuitry adjusts the gain so that less than half the amount of attenuation is necessary. This signal never comes close to the noise floor, and thereby eliminates the possibility of noise contamination that plagues conventional volume-attenuation designs. |

| Through Onkyo's proprietary RI system, which lets you integrate different Onkyo components for control through one remote, you can simply connect the TXSR505 with your iPod through the RI Dock for the iPod (DS-A1).
