Onkyo's TXSR574 brings you the exciting world of XM Satellite Radio. You just have to attach an optional antenna (sold separately) and subscribe to XM Satellite Radio service. The TXSR574 also incorporates other key attributes of quality home theater. With a high current power supply; Onkyo's proprietary WRAT (Wide Range Amplifier Technology); and the latest Dolby Digital and DTS surround decoders, you've got the foundations for creating a memorable movie experience at home. As an XM-Ready receiver, you have the option of connecting the TXSR574 to more than 150 channels of uninterrupted music, news, sports, talk and entertainment, ensuring you'll never be short of content. What's more, you'll be able to relish the high-fidelity and power that lesser components fail to bring to radio transmission.

XM Satellite Radio Capability

The TXSR574 brings you commercial-free and high-quality satellite radio programming through an XM Connect and Play port on the rear. Simply connecting an XM Connect and Play home antenna (sold separately) into the TXSR574 brings you more than 150 digital channels -- stacks of content that have revolutionalized the radio industry forever. NOTE: Hardware and XM monthly service subscriptions are necessary, and are not included with the TXSR574.

Connecting With Quality

To help ensure the highest quality from your entertainment sources, Onkyo provided the TXSR574 with a full range of quality connections, including 3 component video inputs and 1 output that all feature component video switching. The amount of bandwidth needed to pass a component video signal depends on the video source you are using. To pass a progressive-scan DVD signal a receiver needs component bandwidth of at least 12 MHz, and a progressive HDTV requires approximately 30 MHz of bandwidth for flawless transfer. The TXSR574's 50-MHz bandwidth is much greater than the 37 MHz needed for 720p and is more than enough for the clearest reproduction of the lastest video signals. There are also 3 S-Video inputs and 2 outputs, 3 optical and 1 coaxial digital audio inputs, and 2 audio inputs. For added convenience, the TXSR574 has S-Video inputs located on the front panel.

Sonic Balancing Acts

Wide Range Amplifier Technology was developed to tackle the sonic demands of today's multi-channel digital audio formats like DVD-Audio, Super Audio CD and DTS. WRAT virtually eliminates the adverse effects of counter-electromotive force by applying an uncommonly low amount of NFB (negative feedback) - the final result is a flat response beyond 100 kHz, which means you get full bandwidth power across all channels. In other words, this receiver can faithfully reproduce any signal that you want to listen to and do it more accurately than you thought possible!

Optimum Gain Volume Circuitry

Conventional volume attenuation methods must initially drop a signal close to the noise floor at low volumes. Even though the signal is only tainted with a little noise, the amount increases when the signal is amplified. Onkyo's Optimum Gain Volume Circuitry adjusts the gain so that less than half the amount of attenuation is necessary. This signal never comes close to the noise floor, and thereby eliminates the possibility of noise contamination that plagues conventional volume-attenuation designs.

CinemaFILTER

The tonal balance of a film soundtrack will be edgy and "bright" when played back over audio equipment in your home. This is because film soundtracks are designed to be played back in large theaters using differnt equipment. Onkyo's CinemaFILTER restores the correct tonal balance for watching a movie soundtrack in your smaller home theater.

Integrating the iPod into Your System

Through Onkyo's proprietary RI system, which lets you integrate different Onkyo components for control through one remote, you can simply connect the TXSR574 with your iPod through the RI Dock for the iPod (DS-A1). What's more, the DS-A1 is one of the more versatile interfaces between the iPod and audio-video systems available offering you hands-free control, recharging capacity and even iPhoto playback.
