Sony's Cinema Studio EX modes provide two additional enhancements. First, they delay the front sound to enlarge the apparent distance to your television screen. Second, they recreate the movie theater's array of surround speakers by generating ten virtual surround speakers. And, they perform this magic while duplicating the acoustics of a Hollywood dubbing stage. The cumulative effect is overwhelming. Additional Processing and Added Convenience

Behind Sony's advanced digital features are two remarkable digital processors. Dolby Digital, DTS and Dolby Pro Logic decoding are handled by a dedicated 32-bit DSP engine of superlative performance. Sony's unique Digital Cinema Sound modes and advanced parameter adjustments originate in a separate 32-bit DSP - for vastly better resolution. You'll hear sound that's superbly realistic and supremely detailed. Sony offers comprehensive controls and adjustments to help keep your life simple. To feed the decoders, both optical and coaxial direct digital inputs are provided. An array of other inputs and outputs make for easy integration into your existing system and provide for future upgradeability. In fact the 6.1 channel inputs are designed for exactly that - allowing you to take advantage of new surround sound formats like SACD.
