Denon has succeeded in developing a fully discrete design for the new DDSC-Digital in which high-performance integrated circuits are used in independent blocks to form a signal processor that reproduces surround sound, and the discrete design ensures that all channels are endowed with identical response and quality of sound.

The AVR2308CI provides a terminal for connecting an iPod on the back panel. With the purchase of either a Denon ASD-1R, an ASD-3N, or an ASD-3W, you can connect and play your iPod through your receiver. This model also features technology that enhances the sound of compressed audio, so your iPod has never sounded better. In addition to iPod compatability, the AVR2308CI can also play music via a network. With the purchase of either the ASD-3N or ASD-3W, you can use either ethernet or Wi-Fi to play music or view photos from you computer. In addition, this model features an input jack to connect to an XM satellite radio tuner antenna, which enables you to listen to many different audio broadcasts from around the globe. All you need is an optional XM tuner antenna, XM service activation, and a subscription (not included), and then you're ready to go.
