Automatic MCACC set-up uses a microphone to monitor a room's acoustic environment, then determines the size and number of speakers, as well as channel level and listener-to-speaker distances. For CD-R/RW, MD, and other recording media, this receiver has one digital coaxial and two optical audio inputs, plus two optical digital outputs. You also get three component video inputs and one output to maintain the signal integrity from such digital sources as DVD and DTV. On the VSX819H's front panel, you'll find an A/V connection, the USB iPod DIRECT input, and a minijack input that's used for other portable music players as well as for the MCACC calibration microphone.
