Let HDMI Switching And Conversion Simplify Your Life |
The STRDG1000 switches between its two 1080p-capable HDMI inputs to send signals to your HDTV via a single 1080p-capable HDMI output. Connect your digital cable set-top box and your Blu-ray or HD DVD player to the receiver and simply toggle back and forth with the remote. You'll really appreciate this if your HDTV has only one HDMI input. This receiver also cuts down on connection cable clutter by upconverting composite, S-Video, and component to HDMI for output, eliminating as many as four out of five output cables per component source. Signal resolutions up to 1080i can be converted to HDMI. And Sony's HDMI Active Intelligence detects and receives the best possible audio and video signals from every connected component, making connection and performance as simple as plugging in a single wire. |

Now the optimal speaker setup for your entertainment room is only a press of a button away. Simply place the included microphone at your listening position and allow the strength of Sony's Digital Cinema Auto Calibration take over. Speaker connections, placement, distance, output levels, and delays are all adjusted automatically to assure a worry-free listening experience. The calibration microphone comes with an 18' cable and a threaded insert on the bottom for tripod mounting. Be aware that Auto Calibration doesn't measure or adjust the subwoofer output level. |

With built-in decoding for all the latest and greatest surround sound formats, the STRDG1000 envelops you in up to 7.1 discrete channels of digital audio for sound quality that analog systems can't match. Suddenly, movies have the same excitement and impact as in the theater. Bass is stronger and closer to the director's original intent. And now, with Dolby Digital EX and DTS ES processing, this receiver has the technology to decode tracks that provide additional rear surround sound. This brings the home theater experience even closer to the effect the director was looking to achieve when the movie was originally mastered. Because not all your entertainment will have Dolby Digital or DTS multichannel soundtracks, Sony's STRDG1000 also incorporates Dolby Pro Logic and Pro Logic IIx advanced sound processing technology to provide realistic virtual surround sound from movies with Dolby Pro Logic or stereo soundtracks.
