We're talking about the image you'll see on your screen when you use the AVR4308CI. Four HDMI (version 1.3a) inputs and one output mean you can use today's newest technology in your home theater and enjoy the highest definition audio and visual content possible. Simultaneous dual HDMI ouput means you can set up two HDMI-equipped components in different zones and run them at the same time. HDMI version 1.3a has more bandwidth which allows more information to be passed, so it supports 36-bits color depth and xvYCC color space, meaning an even broader range of colors can be used. More colors equals more realism. Even if you don't have the most current components, you can still get high definition entertainment thanks to analog-to-HDMI and HDMI-to-HDMI upconversion. This means that standard definition content can be improved to look like high definition. A high-speed, high-accuracy 12-bit/216 MHz video DAC is used in the video circuitry for component video, S-video, and composite video signals. This DAC enhances the reproducibiility of delicate-level video signals, allowing high-definition video to be played back with greater fidelity to the original images. In addition, noise shaped video (NSV) technology improves video S/N for greater signal linearity. A technology called Faroudja DCDi processing uses mathematical algorithms to fill in blank spots and eliminate jagged edges, ensuring the sharpest picture possible.

The AVR4308CI features Dolby TrueHD and dts-HD Master Audio decoding. With 100% lossless coding technology (thanks to very high bit rates), you'll hear sound identical to the studio master. Denon also includes their new technology to restore compressed formats including mp3/WMA/AAC. It will reproduce higher frequency range and deeper bass sound.

Three of the latest 32-bit floating point DSPs are used in the AVR4308CI for decoding. The latest high-accuracy 24-bit/192-kHz D/A converter has been employed for the audio DAC, while a high-performance A/D converter of 24-bit/192-kHz quality has been used to significantly boost S/N and dynamic range. The AVR4308CI also utilizes AL24 Processing Plus, the latest technology for high sound quality giving you the most bang for your buck available in an audio system. Package all that with DENON Link III (enabling high-speed, high-grade digital signal transmission), and a large-output power amp section and power supply configuration for stable high-power output, and you're ready to rock 'n roll.

Getting The Best Sound

A new auto set-up and Room EQ, featuring MultEQ XT from Audyssey, gives you overall listening area support using the supplied microphone. You'll quickly get just the right set up for your listening area. With configurable center, surround, and surround back amplifiers, you have some options for multi-room use. For example, you could enjoy 5.1-channel theater sound in the main room and a monaural environment in a second and third room. The AVR4308CI also provides full support for the most advanced surround playback formats. In addition to the powerful THX, THX Surround EX and THX Ultra2 post processing modes, you get support for Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, DTS-ES, DTS 96/24, DTS Neo:6 and HDCD. Connectivity/Expandability

The AVR4306 is equipped with an Ethernet port that lets you build various types of network environments. You can use these network environments to take advantage of three new home audio network functions. The Audio Media Client function lets you stream audio over the network from a Music Server. This network connection uses two standard technologies: The Designed to DLNA (DLNA: Digital Living Network Alliance) Guidelines, and Windows Media Connect. Supported audio formats are MP3, WAV (LPCM), and WMA. Internet Radio is a system that lets you hear radio broadcasts from stations on the Internet. A wide variety of stations, both large and small and some which are operated by individuals, can be found on the Internet. Until now, radio stations could only be heard if you were within listening range of their radio waves, but with Internet Radio, you can listen to broadcasts from all over the world. The list of stations that the AVR4308CI uses comes from the vTuner radio station database that has been customized for Denon. Finally, A/V Receiver Network Setup (Web Control) lets you set up and control the A/V receiver over a network using Internet Explorer on a PC. The AVR4308CI's Ethernet port also supports serial controls that use Crestron and others.

DDSC-Digital

The DDSC (Dynamic Discrete Surround Circuit)-Digital is a high-quality surround sound reproduction circuit designed for Denon, and forms the core of the design concept that Denon pursues for all its A/V amps: to faithfully reproduce the original intent of content producers. Denon has succeeded in developing a fully discrete design for the new DDSC-Digital in which high-performance ICs are used in independent blocks to form a signal processor that reproduces surround sound, and the discrete design ensures that all channels are endowed with identical response and quality of sound.

Connect Your iPod

The AVR4308CI provides a terminal for connecting your iPod on the back panel. With the separately-sold ASD1R, you can connect and play your iPod. A USB terminal that lets you connect your USB-compatible portable music player is provided behind the trap door on the front panel. You can connect the player to this terminal and play the MP3 or WMA (Windows Media) files directly through your AVR4308CI system.
