It's Not Bragging If You Can Back It Up

For more than 50 years, JBL has been involved in every aspect of music and film recording and reproduction, from live performances to the recordings you play in your home, office, or car. Now JBL is making a bold claim about their CONTROL 1Xtreme bookshelf/desktop, two-way satellite speakers. Despite being just a little larger than a half-gallon milk carton, JBL calls them personal monitors, a term usually reserved for recording studio speakers. The design of these 0.5" titanium-laminate tweeter/4.0" polypropylene cone woofer units borrows heavily from JBL's professional studio monitor speakers, and the performance bears out their heritage. Not too many speakers sound as good two feet from your face on either side of your computer display as they do from across the room; and since CONTROL 1Xtreme's are magnetically shielded, there's no problem putting them right next to a computer monitor or TV. Recommended power amplifier input is from 10 to 80 watts and frequency response is from 80 Hz to 20 kHz. Rubber on the top and bottom of the injection molded cabinet helps to control vibration while the metal grilles will stand up to serious desktop abuse. Optional wall-mounting brackets (not included) are available from JBL. No matter where you put these personal monitors around the house of the office, you'll never be far from studio quality sound.
