Research shows that approximately 30 percent of what we hear is direct sound while the other 70 percent is reflected off walls, the ceiling, and objects in the room before it hits an eardrum a fraction of a second later. It's this reflected sound that provides the sense of space and adds depth to music. So Mirage created the OMNI Series speakers with the OMNIGUIDE — a proprietary component that includes the Pure Titanium Hybrid tweeter, titanium deposit drivers, and dispersion modules to achieve this very same 3-D sound experience. THE OMNI 260, the flagship of the new OMNI series is a 2.5-way speaker that utilizes the OMNIGUIDE module housing consisting of a 1" Pure Titanium Hybrid (PHT) tweeter suspended over a 6.5" titanium deposit driver. The entire module is situated on an angled platform at the top of the loudspeaker. Traditionally, Mirage has used speakers firing both out of the front and rear of the cabinet to create OMNIPOLAR sound dispersion, with OMNIGUIDE this is no longer necessary.
Each tower speaker is outfitted with two removable grills, one to hide the top OMNIGUIDE segment and another to conceal the front firing 6.5" titanium deposit driver and specially tuned flared port. The OMNI 260 uses 3/4" MDF for cabinet construction as well as high quality five-way mounting terminals and tip reducing stabilizing legs with threaded spiked feet. The result is a much more refined and finished look of a traditional loudspeaker with unprecedented sound and performance that you have come to expect from Mirage. |

The 260's have an 8 ohm nominal impedance (4 ohm minimum) and have a frequency response that goes from 35Hz~20kHz ± 3 dB. Maximum power handling is rated at 200 Watts. |
Get It Right (Or Left) The First Time |
Not ones to provide you the technology and then not tell you the best way to use it, Mirage includes speaker placement suggestions for optimal listening pleasure. A general guideline for right and left speaker placement is to set up the space between speaker and listener at approximately 1-1/2 times the distance between the speakers. For example, if the speakers were ideally placed a minimum of six feet apart, the best seating position would be nine feet away. Ideal height would position the speaker at approximately ear level when the listener is in a seated position. |
