An amazing experience
If you love great sound you must experience the magic of Definitive's Bipolar SuperTowers, a family to which the BP7006 belongs. Their patented combination of bipolar technology (for rich life-like, room-filling, three-dimensional sound) and built-in SuperCube technology subs (for awesome, lightning-fast, earthshaking bass) delivers absolutely unsurpassed sonic performance. Combine them with our perfectly matched centers and surrounds for an extraordinary home theater system which is, to quote HDTV Insider, "a mind-boggling sonic achievement."
Hearing is believing
Definitive Technology's total commitment to uncompromised sonic superiority has made them the leader in high-performance loudspeakers. They have been voted the industry"s top loudspeaker manufacturer as well as number one for quality and reliability in nationwide dealer surveys. It is our pleasure to present one of their premier world-class top-of-the-line speakers: the BP7006. This bipolar SuperTower loudspeaker is like no other in the world. Top reviewers have hailed the SuperTower line as "a true revelation" and compare their astounding sonic performance with speakers selling for ten times their price and higher. You simply must hear them for yourself.
Audio of unequaled purity
Definitive's bipolar loudspeakers are superior to any conventional loudspeaker regardless of size or price. Both movies and music are reproduced with unequaled purity, transparency, and lifelike realism. These elegant, slender towers seem to disappear in a huge natural soundstage which extends in a three-dimensional arc beyond the speakers with front to back depth which can be almost magical in its ability to recreate the illusion of live music or cinematic action actually being performed in your room. This combination of high resolution, magnificent soundstaging, awesome bass, and explosive impact literally envelops you in what is absolutely the ultimate listening experience. This is the miracle of bipolar technology.
Sonic superiority
Experts agree that bipolar speakers are absolutely superior for both music and home theater. What is responsible for the unequaled sonic performance of Definitive's bipolar speakers? Quite simply, each speaker incorporates two complete sets of drivers, one facing forward and the other facing to the rear. Thus, their bipolar speakers radiate the full sonic spectrum both forward and rearward in an omnidirectional pattern, exactly as sound is produced in real life. The sonic benefits you hear are dramatic! This unique technology provides you with a lifelike balance of early-arrival sound information, which provides focus, clarity, and location data, and properly delayed late-arrival information, which conveys the lush three-dimensional soundstage of a live music or cinematic performance. This combination creates a huge soundfield which is rich, warm, ultra clear, and vibrantly alive. In addition, the special driver topology, as well as their wide dispersion, assures a superb panorama of lifelike sound for every listener in your room wherever they sit or stand. Most importantly, however, Definitive's bipolar speakers make the walls of your room seem to disappear and, in effect, expand the size of your room into the soundspace of the live event your system is reproducing. They will literally bring your music and movies to life in your home. One listen and you can never go back to conventional speakers again!
Sounding better and better
The sonic advantages of a powered subwoofer for music and movies are many, including greatly extended low-frequency response, expanded dynamic range, heightened impact, improved clarity and the almost magical ability to "suspend disbelief" which is the hallmark of great sound. Definitive invented built-in powered subwoofers to create better sounding speakers and systems which do a better job of reproducing music and movies plus have the greater bass impact of dual subs. With their SuperTowers (including the BP7006), you get all the benefits of bipolar technology plus sonic performance dramatically superior to that which is possible when you use separate powered subwoofers (even two of them). And, there's no need for the clutter of extra sub boxes or wires. Definitive Bipolar SuperTowers are more than just a speaker and a subwoofer. They are true full-range systems with the sub-bass capability which ideally every speaker in your system should have. Building subs into the sleek bipolar towers allows their engineers to perfectly blend the subs to the rest of the system, which is virtually impossible to achieve in your home with separate subwoofers due to all the positioning and adjustment variables involved. The result is clearly superior sound quality and dramatic performance benefits both for music and movies. You have the advantage of two powered subwoofers, plus the absolute sonic superiority and total harmonic integrity which only true full-range speakers can give you. Sonic benefits include improved detail, ultra-coherent blending, richer, smoother response throughout the room and greater impact. This is very important for music, Dolby Digital, DTS, and Dolby EX program material. Dolby Digital was created for full-range frequency response in every channel and anything less, especially up front, is a clearly audible compromise of its performance potential. Definitive's built-in powered subs deliver Dolby Digital's full potential.
A portion of your sound system
This single speaker one half of a speaker pair (Left/Right) that you can incorporate into your surround/sound system. It may be used as either the left or right forward speaker, and where you place it is dependant on how your system is set up in the audio space and on your personal preference. Experiment, experiment, experiment! The users guide will assist in placing your speakers just right in the room for optimal sound quality.

First, let me just say that a couple of reviewers on here that were not impressed did one of three things wrong. 1. They wired their speakers out of phase. 2. They purchased two right or two left channels. 3. They reversed the left and right towers so that cancellation and phase problems occurred in their room. Problem number 3 happened to me and I was ready to cry. Then I realized from that thin sound I had heard before that I might just have to switch them. Two minutes later, after the switch, I had a dumb grin that couldn't be wiped off my face. The lack of life, punch, volume, low frequency extension and otherwise dull sound was COMPLETELY remedied by the switch. Buy a pair. If you have the half brain necessary to actually order a left tower AND right tower, and hook them up and position them properly, you shall be rewarded. How could a simple problem like the ones above cause SO MUCH TROUBLE? Easy! These speakers have subwoofers on one side, passive radiators on the other side, a mid and tweeter array on the front and a mid and tweeter array on the back. Left and right channels and positioning are PARAMOUNT to good sound with bipolar side mount self contained sub towers. The sound coming out of these is unequaled by speakers costing twice as much. Period.

These speakers are amazing for the size. One requirement is that you have to have a 115v outlet near. This is for the bass section, which is a self contain sub woofer and amp. The sub has its own volume control located in the rear to control the bass. Theres also a connection for Lfe Sub which is control by your amplifier. If you are buying a pair, be sure to buy speaker 1 and speaker 2. One is the left and the other is the right speaker. I do have have a pair of speakers with a 15 woofer which don' compair with the Definitive Technology Speakers BP7006 Black Speakers. My new phrase is less space more bass. Thats what I think when I hear the sound coming from these small towers. Even at low volume.

After and long, long, long time decided to upgrade my home theater system. Looked at many options floor standing, 5 and 7 channel home theater systems, among others and decieed to go for floor standing speakers. Once I found the Definitive audio BP7006, read as many reviews as I could, and found them at less than half price from suggested retail given that its a discontinued model, I decided to go for them. These speakers were perfect for me. Need to get a set of speakers that were simple, not too big and with the BP7006 I avoided having to have a separate woofer. I have had them for 2 weeks. They sound great and are very slick. The one thing that you have to be careful, you have to get a speaker 1 and a speaker 2. This is not clear when you look at them at first but then after reading their webpage and reviews I realized that you need two different speakers.

The build quality is great!! Very sturdy and heavy but I thought the sound that these speakers produced were small and narrow. I'm not sure WHAT I was expecting from a 4-14 inch driver but it wasn't what I had hoped. I guess, I was hoping the 8 inch sub would help fill in the frequency gap. It did sound full with lower end. Full and big but the midrange was missing considerably. I am now trying the Polk Audio Monitor 70 II and I must say, I enjoy the Polk quite a bit more! The Midrange is a present in the Polk, more so than the Def Tech. If you were to consider the technology that is put into speaker building these days, it cost next to nothing to build a good sounding speaker!! For the money, a person could get much better sound. This is my opinion and others may not share it.

I live in a condo and while I don't have a lot of space, I wanted speakers that would potentially be future proof and high quality. These turned out to do the job future proofing, well know soon. They're smaller and more compact than I thought. The bass on them is amazing, I only have mine turned up halfway and it rumbles my room. Overall, easy to hook up. They are a bit heavy but I think this adds to stability.

Let me start by saying that I was stuck between the BP-7006 or a set of Klipsch speakers. I already had a pair of Pro Monitor 350s and was willing to get something new depending on what I went with. I am so glad that Def Tech was my choice. the first thing I like is not having to have a separate sub woofer. This means less cables and easier set up. Not having a sub might make some people worry about lake of bass in movie or music, worry not my friends there is enough bass in these speakers for almost any size room. The sound I was looking for was something that would resemble the IMAX theater I visited . My home is in no way built the same way nor do I have the money for their sound system but with these speakers you might think you were a millionaire. The clarity of sound is the other impressive point of these speakers. The highs are never shrill or muddy with excellent mid bass. Hooking these speakers up was also a snap. You can use the LFE input for the built in sub woofer or just use speaker wire and let the crossover handle the frequency separation. The latter is the way I chose to go and could not be more impressed. If you are looking for some new towers and want great sound with low powerfull bass, look no further than the bp-7006. If you need bigger sound you can step up to 7004, 7002, 7001cs or 7001cs.
