3-Way Cherry Heritage Series Floorstanding Loudspeaker |
Considered a watershed industry event, the introduction of the Klipschorn set the standard for high sensitivity, wide dynamic range, low distortion, and smooth frequency response. Commonly called a corner-horn speaker, the remarkably uncommon Klipschorn includes a highly efficient horn-loaded tweeter and midrange compression driver. Its patented folded-horn 15" woofer delivers powerful low frequencies. These principles and these components, which drive the creation of every single Klipsch loudspeaker, are what make the Klipschorn as sought after today as it was decades ago. |

The History Of Hi-Fi Started Here |
If you long for the long-gone days when it was acceptable for a speaker to be big as a truck, Klipsch's Klipschorn will be sweet music to your decibel-damaged ears. An engineering breakthrough when it was first introduced, the Klipschorn set the industry standard for high sensitivity, wide dynamic range, low distortion, smooth frequency response, and powerful bass. Commonly called a corner-horn speaker, the remarkably uncommon Klipschorn includes a highly efficient horn loaded tweeter and midrange compression driver. Its patented folded-horn 15" woofer delivers powerful low frequencies. These principles and these components, which drive the creation of every single Klipsch loudspeaker, are what make the Heritage Series Klipschorn as sought after today as it was decades ago. In fact, the technology of this three-way, horn-loaded loudspeaker is as valid today as it was 60 years ago. Some things, like excellence, never change. |
In The Words Of The Original Mr. Klipsch |
"I wanted something with a closer approach to accuracy in reproduction."
Sixty years and a zillion devotees later, you might say Klipsch got his wish.
Paul Klipsch's goal was to bring the aural thrill of a live orchestra into his living room. To that end, the Klipschorn spans more than nine full octaves with rich, full, smooth, ultra-low distortion sound. Purists will breath a sigh of relief to find that the driver content and basic cabinet configuration remains virtually untouched. Does it have the Model K-33-E 15" fiber-composite cone woofer with trihedral exponential folded horn? Check. Does it have the Model K-55-X 2" Phenolic Diaphragm Compression Midrange Driver With Exponential MF Horn? Check. The 1" Phenolic Diaphragm Compression Driver Tweeter? Check. Would Mr. Klipsch have been uber-proud of this speaker? Check. Do you need it in your living room? Check. |
A Legend In Sound |
As part of the highly esteemed Heritage series, the Klipschorn benefits from decades of stringent engineering and class-leading research and development. Like all Klipsch products, the Klipschorn features Horn-loaded Technology -- the guiding design for the first Klipschorn developed in 1946 and for each and every one that has followed in the 60 years of its uninterupted production. Horn-loading allows the speaker to deliver very high sensitivity, low distortion, flat frequency response, and broad, controlled dispersion. This translates to unequaled power, detail, and dynamics, the hallmarks of "The Klipsch Sound." |
Pretty, In Its Own Brawny Way |
Despite looking remarkably cool in all its retro glory, the Klipschorn is a meticulously crafted work of audio artistry, designed to enable the high quality sonic performance of the concert hall, in your living room. As the only speaker in the world to be in continuous production for 60 years, the Klipschorn has remained relatively unchanged since its inception. In 2005, the company made some minor cosmetic and functional revisions to this legendary speaker, including the elimination of the inset collar, or spacer, between the upper and lower cabinets for a cleaner aesthetic appearance. A horizontal wall seal was also added to improve the low frequency horn's response accuracy. Assembled by skilled craftsmen in Hope, Arkansas, where the Klipsch legacy began, these speakers have a legacy like no other. This time, when you whip out your Visa, you're buying a piece of history. Available in a cherry, walnut or black ash wood veneer finish, the Klipschorn reflects a level of high-quality workmanship that will never go out of style. |
