First glance at the RM 2008 Series RM8 and you see a compact, elegant looking piece of equipment. Nice, you think, but what's this little satellite speaker got under its hood? Look closer and you see the unique dual-drivers coupled with the three-sided cabinet design. Polk calls this combination the Wide Dispersion Array design. So you see a triangular cabinet with drivers on two sides of the speaker. Traditional satellite speakers simply fire sound in one direction. How about two RM8's?

Again, this speaker is packaged and sold singly — its intended use is for front or surround channel use in 6.1 or 7.1 channel systems. But, if you're feeling extra adventerous, you may want to invest in two or three of them. If you do, you'll find that, when combined, they work together in a "mirror" design. Each is designated as either a left or right speaker and this ensures a dispersion pattern to bring you perfectly balanced sound. In addition, the second driver featured on Wide Dispersion Array allows the speaker to play louder, handle more power, and produce more bass. The result is rich, powerful sound. Magnetically shielded to prevent video distortion

In the past it wasn't possible to place speakers close to your TV due to possible damage from the magnetic fields inside the speaker.
