You know, things like rain, snow, dust, humidity, temperature extremes, gale-force winds. The usual. With its Atrium Sat30 outdoor speaker, Polk invites you to laugh in the face of the elements. While the Sat30's mineral-filled polypropylene housing, 1mm aluminum grille, and stainless steel hardware team up to resist damage from weather year after year, its exclusive shock-absorbing gasket withstands blows from lawn equipment, delivering an added dimension of durability.
And now for the music
Some outdoor speakers sacrifice driver design and performance in favor of weather-resistance and durability. Believe us, the Polk Atrium Sat30 doesn't hang out with those speakers. In fact, it's the leader of the band of speakers that matches ultra-durable cabinet designs with high-performance audio reproduction. Serving up full, accurate midrange audio, the Sat30 features a 3.5" long-throw driver with 1" voice coil, vented pole piece, composite cone, and butyl-rubber surround. Meanwhile, a 0.75" soft-dome tweeter is bridge-mounted, allowing it to produce crisp detail and smooth, realistic sound. Further, Dynamic Balance driver technology synthesizes materials, geometry, and construction to produce flat frequency response, sharp detail, and dynamic wide-range audio reproduction.
Place it where you will
No backyard is the same. Accordingly, no one speaker-installation strategy is suitable to every backyard. Giving you the freedom to customize the installation of your Atrium Sat30 to the unique layout of your backyard, Polk has designed the Sat30 with multiple installation possibilities. First, use the ground-mounting stake with security plate to ground the Sat30 right into your lawn. Second, mount the Sat30's base to a wall or decking for an installation closer to where the people are. Finally, you can remove the Sat30's pedestal and hang the speaker from a roof or beam, mimicking modern exterior lighting. Oh, and while the chestnut-colored speaker cabinet matches many home décors, it can also be painted for the perfect look.
