The air mass in the cylindrical ports resonates in response to the movement of the air behind the diaphragm within the enclosure, similar to the way that the air in a glass bottle resonates when you blow air across its mouth. The Atrium60's PowerPort vented design overcomes the inherent limitations of other vented designs by using a cone structure at the port's mouth to reduce natural turbulence. Simultaneously, the vented design allows for a more modest enclosure size that won't be obtrusive in your backyard. Additionally, the PowerPort's design includes a flared "umbrella" diffuser and Bugscreen Protector that keep water and insects from entering the cabinet through the port. For total waterproofing, use the PowerPort Plug to seal the cabinet completely in extreme weather.
