Its extraordinary design, featuring a Tractrix Horn and four Cerametallic Cones, delivers clarity, efficiency, power handling, freedom from distortion, and reliability that sets new standards for home speaker systems. High-quality internal wiring is used to ensure superior connection from the voice coils all the way to the electronics. The RC-64 is a speaker that truly lets you hear through to the original performance, to experience every detail and feel all the emotion.

Tractrix What?

Molded into a sculpted, low-diffraction baffle, the RC-64's 6 inch Tractrix Horn tweeter delivers effortlessly detailed midrange and treble. The Tractrix Horn's newly-improved throat geometry and carefully calculated flare dramatically increase driver efficiency, allowing production of very high sound levels with minimal amplifier power and no strain or distortion. It also controls the sound's directivity (90 degrees horizontal x 60 degrees vertical dispersion), ensuring excellent coverage of the listening area while minimizing detail-obscuring reflections off of walls, floor, and ceiling. Fed by a smooth, accurate 1.25" titanium-diaphragm tweeter, the Tractrix Horn is the key to the vibrantly realistic, emotionally compelling Klipsch Sound Experience.

So much more than just a pretty face, the RC-64's rugged, quad Cerametallic Cone woofers with massive, video-shielded magnets generate deep, powerful bass. Its four distinctive anodized-aluminum -- and oh-so-pretty --copper-colored cones exhibit a very high stiffness-to-mass ratio and superb damping characteristics that translate to outstanding responsiveness and near-total absence of resonance and breakup. The result is quick, clean, articulate low-frequency reproduction. Rigid cast frames -- far superior to conventional stamped-steel baskets -- maintain perfect alignment of the large, high-temperature voice coils. Beauty and beast, all in one speaker, yes!

Tapered-Array = Better Sound Quality

Klipsch's Tapered-Array™ crossover network technology eliminates the acoustical interference between drivers that plagues most horizontal center-channel speakers. This technology allows all four woofers to create intense bass, while only two work with the tweeter to acoustically blend the midrange. The result is a smooth, clear sound not just directly in front of the speaker, but off to the sides as well, where conventional center speakers often exaggerate or eliminate sounds.
