4-way black 800W Cascade Series powered subwoofer |
Bass that 'fits' your room; rumbles and goes 'boom'. Housing its four 6", 800W-powered drivers in a slim 8.5"-deep cabinet enclosure, the Cascade Model Fifteen is the ideal low-frequency complement to your surround-sound system and spacious flat-panel home theater. The Room Adaptive Bass Optimization System matches your Cascade Model Fifteen's performance to the natural acoustics of your living room. A vented-enclosure cabinet design allows for extended low-frequency performance from a more modestly-sized cabinet. |

Keeping the beat with the home entertainment revolution |
The popularity of flat panel plasma and LCD video displays suggests at least one certainty about the future of home audio. Tomorrow's loudspeakers won't be the boxy, intrusive, room-dominating instruments they are today. They'll deliver all the power and realism you've come to expect, but they'll be thinner and more elegant than ever before. And the first of this brave new generation? Infinity's premium Cascade Series. For almost 40 years, Infinity has been advancing the science of sound with breakthrough audio technologies and landmark loudspeaker systems. Design has always been an Infinity hallmark, and Cascade's revolutionary technologies presented their designers with even greater freedom to give you great sound without infringing on your space. Your new Cascade Model Fifteen houses its four 6" low-frequency drivers, backed by a 800W RMS amplifier, in a sleek 13" H x 37" W x 8.5" D vented cabinet enclosure that maximizes your audio's low-frequency performance while having a minimal presence in your living room. |
Your home theater, your bass |
Every room has unique acoustical properties that can influence your audio system's performance. Imagine, however, a subwoofer that could detect these properties and then optimize its own performance within that space. Stop imagining, you have the Cascade Model Fifteen featuring the Room Adaptive Bass Optimization System (R.A.B.O.S.). This room sound-equilibration technology uses a single band of parametric equalization to tame the most prominent room, mode or bass peaks. These bass peaks exaggerate sounds at their frequency, resulting in bass performance that is often sloppy or boomy. By reducing the level of this peak, R.A.B.O.S. enables you to hear deeper, more detailed low frequencies. The sound-pressure-level meter included in your Cascade Model Fifteen's R.A.B.O.S. accessory kit allows you or the installer to easily make the measurements required in order to properly calibrate the R.A.B.O.S. settings for your particular listening room. |
Bass-performance is a reflex for this sub |
As a vented-enclosure subwoofer (also known as a bass-reflex sub), the Cascade Model Fifteen allows you to experience enhanced low-frequency reproduction out of a smaller enclosure. Vented systems use the sound produced at the rear side of the diaphragm to increase the efficiency of the system at low frequencies by taking advantage of the resonance of ports or vents designed into the enclosure. The air mass in the cylindrical ports resonates in response to the movement of the air behind the diaphragm within the enclosure, similar to the way that the air in a glass bottle resonates when you blow air across its mouth. Your new Cascade Model Fifteen's vented design extends low-frequency bass performance and, simultaneously, allows for a more modest enclosure size that won't dominate space in your living room. |
Evaluation takes the guesswork out of design |
Music and motion pictures are art. Reproducing that art is science, and science is quantifiable. Before ever putting a speaker into production, Infinity's engineers make and analyze a number of critical objective and subjective measurements. Objectively, they measure frequency response, spatial averages, phase response, and nonlinear distortion to analyze technical accuracy, sensitivity, and power handling. Subjectively, they measure sound quality (timbre and bandwidth), spatial quality (how well the speakers spread out the sound), stereo imaging, the multi-channel soundstage (strength of the sound imaging in front, behind, and to the sides), and dynamic capabilities (sound quality for very loud or very quiet inputs) to see if the engineering efforts have been successful. The Infinity Cascade Series speaker you bring into your home has been subjected to some of the most rigorous testing in the industry, all to assure you superb performance and superior quality. |
