Size Matters |

| For years the subwoofer design battle has been between high performance and size. With the advent of flat screen television, the trend has been to incorporate small on-wall or in-wall speakers that cosmetically complement these stylish TVs. However, even more so than with tower speakers, these smaller speakers deliver anemic bass, leaving their home theater systems sounding shallow, thin, and lacking in dynamic, deep bass. To produce the lowest frequencies with sufficient output has traditionally required big subwoofers that are totally out of place in a room designed around a flat screen TV. With the SPL Series II, Velodyne has solved this bass dilemma. Due to their compact size and single front firing driver design, the SPL Series II subwoofers are easily hidden in a corner or built into a cabinet. Yet with their elegant styling, appealing finish, blue LED and integrated speaker grill, you just might want to show them off. |

Thundering Powerhouse |

| The SPL Series II's incredibly small size is just the beginning. These new subs feature the latest generation of Velodyne's patented "ERS" (Energy Recovery System) Class-D digital amplifiers. Each subwoofer is driven by 2000 watts of Dynamic Power to deliver all the impact and excitement of the most dramatic special effects. And, with 1000 watts of continuous RMS power they accurately reproduce the lowest musical frequencies with detail and definition not found in any other subwoofers in their price range regardless of size. Rated at over 95 percent efficiency, the "ERS" amps used in the SPL Series II generate minimal heat, making them incredibly reliable. |

Massive Drivers, Low Distortion |
|
| To compliment these powerful amplifiers Velodyne has developed massive drivers with multi-layer, Kevlar reinforced, resin cones mounted in die-cast aluminum baskets. Each driver incorporates a unique, inside/outside, two-layer copper voice coil that assures linear travel, and allows for the heat dissipation needed to handle the gigantic power delivered by the ERS amps. These technological breakthroughs in amplifier and speaker design allow the SPL Series II subs to create room-shaking bass for home theater applications in spite of their tiny sizes. In addition, Velodyne's exclusive distortion limiting "Dynamic Driver Control System" assures the tight, accurate, musical bass for which Velodyne is world famous."DDCS" is an active, signal-based system incorporating several exclusive technologies from Velodyne that assure linear cone movement, and control the driver's frequency and distortion characteristics. This reduces the distortion to 1/6th that of competitive subwoofers. Like all Velodyne subwoofers the SPL Series II subs incorporate anti-clipping circuitry to limit amplifier clipping distortion, and Velodyne's exclusive "Subwoofer Direct" feature that assures a perfect match and optimum performance in any music or home theater system. |

Room Bass Correction |
|
| The SPL II Series sets itself apart in another way: these powerful subwoofers can be set up to deliver optimal bass in whatever room they are placed in. Simply place the included microphone in your favorite easy chair (or wherever you prefer to listen to your music from) and push the 'EQ' button on the handy remote control. The internal signal generator sends out a series of tones that are analyzed by the Digital Signal Processor (DSP) , adjusting the six band equalizer (you read that right...SIX) to give you the best bass performance right at your seat. The DSP tunes the subwoofer more accurately than an analog system, producing louder, lower, and more accurate bass. DSP also stores into memory specific equalization curves and output parameters to allow you, with one touch on your remote control, to get EXACTLY the bass you want in any given situation or while playing any given genre of music. Now THAT is what we call power. |
