When you replace your water filter every six months (because you follow directions to the exact specifications on the package--or you wait until the light comes on to tell you it needs to be replaced), it's nice to know that the replacement filter you install in your refrigerator is of the same or better quality. The MWF replacement filter is an improved version of the GWF. It reduces more waterborne contaminants such as Mercury, Toxaphene, p-dichlorobenzene, Carbofuran, Alachlor, and Benzene. It also reduces lead, crystosporidium, and giardia. Which is good if you're not a fan of heavy metal poisoning, diarrhea, and kidney problems. You can also use the MWF as a replacement filter for the FXRT and FXRC filters when you use it with a reusable adaptor (sold separately). No tools are required for installation.
