Most laundry sets have to use two of the same pedestal in order to raise the height of their appliances. However, GE decided to do things a little differently. They created two different pedestals. For the washer, there is what's called a SmartDispense pedestal which allows you to add up to six months' worth of detergent to the pedestal, which will dispense just the right amount as necessary. This is sold separately at vanns.com. But since dryers don't use detergent, where does that leave them? This is where the SPSD157JWW comes in. On the exterior, it is identical to the SmartDispense pedestal. But once you open the two drawers, up you'll clearly see that the SPSD157JWW is a storage pedestal, designed to give you laundry storage space. So while you can use the storage pedestal for either the washer or dryer (or get one for each), the two pedestals make a perfect pair, bringing you the ultimate in laundry convenience. |

The SPSD157JWW will raise the height of your laundry machine by 15", making it much easier to access the drum. The inside of the pedestal is a slide-out storage drawer on stainless steel ball bearings. This drawer is very convenient for holding all of your laundry supplies such as bleach and lint filters. In case your bottle of detergent gets knocked over, though the drawer is designed to be spill-resistant. There is als a removable organizer to make this accessory even more convenient. Finally, this pedestal drawer is made by GE Profile, so it perfectly matches the shape and white color of the new GE Profile laundry set. |
