This classic Dylan masterpiece is now available on Super Audio Compact Disc (SACD) so it will sound better than ever. Next Level Digital Audio |
Take a giant step up to a stunning new world in digital sound, beyond your old CDs, (which used Pulse Code Modulation (PCM), where music signals are converted into digital data through sampling and represented as a bit number) to the new Super Audio Compact Discs (SACD), which use Direct Stream Digital (DSD) technology. Sony's stunning new DSD digital sound format dramatically increases and broadens the original wave form of music, which results in music reproduction that is remarkably pure and faithful to the original music. In addition to exceptional sound, the SACD/DSD format can accommodate more than four times the information of current CDs, allowing for more detail in full two-channel stereo sound and for even more stunning 5.1 (2-front, 2-rear surround, one center channel and a subwoofer) surround sound playback, which matches so well with surround sound home theater. There's even room on these discs for visual information and graphics (limited to playlists and graphics information). SACD will change the way you listen to music, because it broadens and deepens the listening sound stage as dramatically as compact discs did 20 years ago. |
A Classic Dylan Album |
In 2003, Rolling Stone ranked Blood On The Tracks number 16 in its list of "500 Greatest Albums Of All Time". And with good reason. Tangled Up In Blue sets up the story as well as the mood while Simple Twist Of Fate and You're A Big Girl Now are poignant realizations of a partnership that's passed him by. He lets the anger come through on Idiot Wind and the blues on Meet Me In The Morning. You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go and If You See Her, Say Hello are disarmingly innocent love songs, and Shelter From The Storm, one of his greatest compositions, conveys the lasting memory from the relationship: the selflessness and generosity of the partner who took him in. Dylan's voice shows a full range of emotion as he searches for beauty and hope among the pain and disappointment. Blood On The Tracks is one of Dylan's most stirring and rewarding albums. |
High Quality |
The sound quality of all three layers of Columbia's reissue, the CD, stereo SACD, and 5.1 channel SACD versions, are all breathtaking, highlighting fine details while retaining most of the warmth of the original vinyl. Even the stereo SACD layer achieves a nearly three-dimensional effect, thanks to fine resolution and lovely fidelity to a lush mix, and frankly, most listeners could mistake it for a rich, glowing analog record. This album is so stunning, so brilliant, that no fan of music should pass this by. Blood On The Tracks is a masterpiece and worth every dollar spent on it. Considering that this reissue is superlative, nobody should hesitate to experience it. |
Hybrid SACD |
A Hybrid SACD contains two separate layers. One layer carries the normal CD information and the other layer contains the high density SACD information -- a multichannel mix and stereo mix. This Hybrid SACD can be played on any CD compatible player. However, if played on a standard CD player, only the CD layer will play. The SACD player can only be played on an SACD player. |
