That's what Omnimount's "Low profile" large fixed mount is all about: blending in with your A/V system, not standing out. But behind the scenes, the VFL VideoBasic fixed mount is doing some seriously important work. It's durable steel construction holds up to 150 pounds while the small footprint provides ample room for power and A/V cutouts behind the panel. A locking system secures your flat panel to the mount, so you don't have to worry about theft. Installation is easy, too, thanks to the single wall plate and universal rails and spacers that provide greater panel compatibility than many mounts.

Choosing the right mount is not difficult, but it does require that you consider how and where your flat panel will be used. In general, there are four criteria for you to consider: Viewing Area, Viewing Height, Viewing Flexibility/Convenience, and Room Lighting. For instance, if you will be placing your flat panel up high over a fireplace, a fixed mount can't give you a good viewing angle. If you have a window behind your sofa, you should consider a tilt mount. Or, if you have a great room or game room with a wide viewing area, you're probably going to want a cantilever mount — either manual or motorized. Fixed mounts are perfect for the following situations: When you have a limited and narrow viewing area. When you are eye-level to the middle or bottom of your flat panel when seated on a chair or couch. And when there is minimal bright light so screen glare is not an issue.
