Panamax's MB850 Uninterruptable Power Supply unit provides battery backup power to up to five outlets in the event of power loss due to voltage fluctuations. The MB850 also offers voltage regulation, surge protection, and ethernet protection ports. Auto-shutdown software combines surge protection with battery backup. The MB850 will safely shut down your home theater PC.

Critical protection for critical components

All of your home A/V and electronics components are major investments. While these devices are designed for years of operation, they are susceptible to significant damage as a result of fluctuations in their power source. In addition to physical damage, some devices — like media servers, computers, or receivers — can lose setup configurations or stored data as a result of dramatic power variations. The MB850 Uninterruptible Power Supply unit from Panamax is designed to prevent critical equipment from losing data in the event of a power surge or power loss by maintaining that equipment's power supply with its built-in battery reserves. The MB850 features two outlet banks, one with five battery-powered outlets with surge protection and Automatic Voltage Regulation, and one with four surge-protected outlets. Because Outlet Bank 1 houses the primary, critical-load outlets, the four non-critical-load outlets in Bank 2 will shut off when in the event of a dramatic surge while components on Bank 1 will continue to run on stored battery power.

What should I plug into the critical-load outlets?

The Panamax MB850 is ideal for providing constant power, even after a power failure, to lamp-based displays, DVR devices, gaming equipments, and home theater system components. Lamp-based displays use a fan to properly cool the lamp. In the event of a power surge or failure, improper cooling can cause lamp burnout. Save your recorded TV programs by keeping your DVR safe. Prevent the loss of unsaved games during the saving and loading process. And avoid the time and hassle of rebooting your home theater system.

Keeping it level

You probably don't realize, but the power supplied to your home fluctuates constantly, mostly in tiny increments. Occasionally, those fluctuations are more dramatic. The Panamax MB850 includes Automatic Voltage Regulation technology to stabilize input voltage to an appropriate level for optimal performance.
