| Blu-ray delivers all the capacity necessary for all sorts of recorded content, including movies and live performances. There are two kinds of single-sided discs for content playback: the 25GB single-layer disc, and the dual-layer disc with double the capacity, a full 50GB. Using the latest compression technologies, the 50GB disc can store up to14 hours (playback time depends on data transfer rate) of 1,125-line HD images. Today's DVD has a capacity of 4.7GB and can contain 2 hours of 525-line standard definition (SD) images. A 2-hour HD movie eats up 8GB of space. No problem for Blu-ray. Even the lower capacity 25GB HD DVD can hold a complete movie and whole lot of bonus content: extra scenes, cast and director interviews, a "making-of"documentary. Alongside content, viewers will be able to enjoy new levels of interactivity that add to the entertainment experience. |

| ULTRAVIOLET takes place in the late 21st century, in the years following a global pandemic of a blood-borne, highly infectious disease known as hemophagia. Those afflicted with the disease are referred to as "hemophages," and have many super-human attributes akin to vampires. Using fear of the contagious disease to seize power and keep the population in check, a militant medical establishment known as the Arch-Ministry takes control of the government and begins rounding up and exterminating all infected citizens. The hero of the film is Violet Song jat Shariff (Milla Jovovich), a young woman who was infected with hemophagia, in the process losing both her husband and her unborn child. Violet is now an emotionally dead killing machine, a member of an underground resistance movement of hemophages waging a guerilla war against the Arch-Ministry and its megalomaniacal, germaphobic leader, Vice-Cardinal Ferdinand Daxus. |
