The name of the AX620B100 is exactly what is advertised, professional. Its strong, sturdy, and for the price, you cant beat it. The ability to adjust so many levels of angles and length is exactly what is needed in a great tripod. I have used many tripods in this past year, and I must say, this is definitely the best bang for your buck.

I recent purchased this tripod. I absolutely love the ball head. It is very easy to maneuver the head to get the exact angle I need. Additionally, the three position legs also make it easy to get the exact height I need. It is light enough yet strong enough to take with you on short hikes or to get that perfect sunsetsunrise shot. It comes with its own carrying case. I am very impressed and would highly recommend this tripod. However, if you use large zoom lenses, I would suggest purchasing a heavier model. This is a must have for any photographer.

At a price of around $30, the Dolica AX620B100 tripod with ball head is an above average entry level tripod. Despite being labeled as a Pro model by Dolica, anyone familiar with photography tripods knows that it is not in that class nor close to it. But, for the photographer that is just beginning to acquire gear or someone that just needs a tripod for occasional use, this tripod may prove to be a good deal.
The included ball head is removable, which is good as you can attach other tripod heads that may be much better in quality or more suited for the task at hand. Its a basic ball head tripod that seems to be OK and can handle my Olympus E-520 with 14-40 and 40-150 kit lenses. Ive also used it with an old Vivitar 70-210 lens, which is heavy! However, with a lot of use with heavy lenses, I think this ball head head will break down in time and not hold too much weight. The removable plate mechanism is a little balky at times, but the safety lock feature is a plus you have to move a secondary level to remove the camera with the plate attached. And, I wonder if extra plates are available for those that want to have more than one camera body ready to use with the tripod. The first tripod I received had a defective head which wouldnt tighten at all. Vanns was excellent at taking it back and providing a replacement shipment.
As to the tripod, its pretty good for the money. I like the collar ring for adjusting the height of the center pole for mounting the head. The adjustable legs work quite well. As noted in other reviews, the plastic leg locks work fine, but are not made to handle a lot of abuse. Having a hook on the bottom of the center pole is a plus as hanging your bag or a weight from the hook helps stabilize the tripod. Since this tripod isnt real heavy or stable as a pro model, its always a good idea to either use a shutter release cable or the timed shutter delay on your camera.
The level is of little interest to me....not sure how accurate or useful it would be to most users.
Im 510, and the tripod is high enough for me to get the camera up to eye level. All in all, it works better than a more expensive Manfrotto tripod I bought that had an integrated head. Hint....avoid tripods with integrated heads. For some of my work, I like to use an old Bogen 3025 head that I picked up for $25. The point is that you can get better used tripod heads and turn this inexpensive tripod into a better performer.
Finally, unless youre going to buy a really nice, truly pro level set of tripod legs andor heads, the Dolica AX620B100 is a good choice. When you are ready to spend more because you use a tripod most of the time, then spring for a good carbon fiber tripod that combines quality and moderate weight. But....it will cost a lot, lot more!
My 5 and 4 star ratings are based upon the quality of this tripod at around $30. That doesnt mean that it is as good as tripods costing much more. But for $30 or so, you cant beat this one based on what Ive seen.

I wanted this tripod to mount a field camera that captures wildlife moving around my property. It has all the features needed to set up the camera properly without a lot of extra adjustments. A great product at a great price. Highly recommened for the amateur photographer.

We bought this tripod to use with our Canon DSLR. It has been very sturdy, while at the same time, lightweight, and easy to transport. It also has many height and leg adjustments, so you can have your camera at the exact level needed for each individual picture. Another great product and price from Vanns.com. Also, shipping was very fast.

The tripod has so many features and is well built....especially consider its price point. Perfect for beginners or intermediate photographers. Only wish there was a separate pan and tilt function in the ball head but that can be easily replaced. Easily two thumbs up.

This tripod is a great tripod for the novice beginner or for the hardcore pro-sumer. This tripod holds its weight great and provides a stable medium great for photography and cinematogrophy. This is the best value for a tripod of this type that I have ever seen, the head is also removeable so you can use your own tripod head or any other devicemechanism that uses a 14 screw mount. This is a great tripod if you looking for value and durability, this is the place to buy it because it is where it is the lowest price.
