UltraDamped Mounting System

Mirage's UltraDamped Mounting System revolutionizes in-ceiling speaker performance by eliminating drywall resonances. The mounting system also enables quick installation while dramatically improving performance. First, an optional all metal pre-construction bracket (sold separately) reinforces the drywall and installs between the studs and joists rather than on the face, leaving no drywall bulge. After the drywall is installed, or during a retrofit where drywall is already in place, the mounting kit's WallBracers and acoustic and fire-rated damping material are installed above and below the speaker opening. The WallBracers expand to reinforce the drywall and reduce resonance. Resonances are further reduced by the speaker itself - all speaker components are mounted on an extremely dense one inch thick piece of MDF baffle, which is screwed to a rigid clamping bezel with unique spring-loaded mounting dogs. The overall result is a thoroughly damped and vibration-free platform for Mirage Incognita driver technology.
