If you've chosen to use Mirage's HDT-WM1 In-Wall Speakers for your new home, you need to use the UltraDamped Mounting Kit. Mirage's UltraDamped Mounting System revolutionizes in-wall speaker performance by eliminating drywall resonances. The first step to ensure perfection in installation is to use Mirage's NCB-L-WM custom installation bracket, an all metal pre-construction bracket which installs between the studs rather than on the face, leaving no drywall bulge. After the drywall is installed, or during a retrofit where drywall is already in place, the mounting kit's WallBracers and acoustic and fire-rated damping material are installed above and below the speaker opening. The WallBracers expand to reinforce the drywall and reduce resonance. Resonances are further reduced by the speaker itself - all speaker components are mounted on an extremely dense one inch thick piece of MDF baffle, which is screwed to a rigid clamping bezel with unique spring-loaded mounting dogs. The overall result is a thoroughly damped and vibration-free platform for Mirage Incognita driver technology. |
