Not all scratches are created equal

With SkipDr, the shape and size of a scratch determines the fix. Everything from shape, size, direction and angle of a scratch will impact performance to varying degrees. Circumferential scratches that run with the tracks of the disc cause many more problems than radial scratches that travel from the disc's middle to the outside edge. After repairing your disc with SkipDr, you may see radial lines, but they are from the rotation of the repair device. Mr. Miyagi says: "Don't wax on and wax off" &mdash just spray, spin and shine. Why not Blu-ray and PS3 discs?

Many people wonder why they can't use SkipDr on their collection of Blu-ray, or Playstation 3 discs. Truth is, DVDs and CDs have a cover layer of .6mm over the data layer. Blu-ray and PS3 discs have just a .1mm thick cover layer, making them much more sensitive to surface scratches. "Well with a cover layer that thin, it's precisely why I NEED the SkipDr!" Good thought, junior, but it doesn't work that way. Here's why: Blu-ray and PS3 discs feature a "hard-coat" technology on the disc surface that renders them much harder to scratch than CD/DVD, so the need for scratch repair is actually reduced. Translation? You probably can abuse that Bambi Blu-ray Disc much more than you can that Alice in Chains CD, and you won't need the 1018300 SkipDr for anything but that music and DVD collection.
