It's time to re-imagine the remote control
You might think that technologies like LCD touchscreens are limited to computers and portable devices like cell phones and MP3 players. You might think that remote controls can only be used to control A/V components. You might think that remote controls don't learn. You might need to start thinking about remote controls in a new way. The Pronto TSU9800/37 home control panel gives you the power to control your entire home theater — A/V components, music servers, PC content, even lighting! And while you command everything from a 6.5" LCD touchscreen with customizable user interface, built-in flash memory and learning-IR capability allow the TSU9800/37 to be perfectly adapted to your home theater.
Custom control at your finger tips
Philip's Pronto TSU9800/37 offers complete system control. Wow, right? But this raises two questions. First, if it's capable of controlling your entire system, won't it be a complicated device to use? Second, if everyone's system is different, how do I know this remote can handle my specific needs? The TSU9800/37 has an answer for both. First, thanks to its 6.5" LCD touchscreen interface, navigating your system controls is clear and simple. A customizable user interface can be configured to match your particular needs and tastes. Further, you have the ability to program up to 250 steps in to macro programs that will complete multiple commands with the touch of a single button. Also, a rotary wheel control adds even more ease to browsing music on your Escient music server. Second, the TSU9800/37 fuels its user interface and Learning IR capability with a built-in 32-bit, 266MHz central processing unit featuring 64MB of flash memory and 64MB RAM. The IR learning function makes it possible for the TSU9800/37 to learn remote commands for devices not already in its repertoire.
Take full advantage of your networked home theater
You've networked you home theater system with your home PC for the ultimate entertainment experience — now all the music, video, and photos on your computer are accessible in the living room. Using an ethernet connection or its wireless LAN 8.2011g connectivity, the Pronto TSU9800/37 allows you to control access to content on your PC. In order to take full advantage of this feature, you'll need a PC with Windows Media Center functionality.
Team up with Escient
Hassles be gone! You have wealth of music stored on your Escient media server, but in order to access all those tunes via the media server's user interface, you have to turn on your TV, even if you just want to listen to music. Until now. The Escient media server's user interface is built into the TSU9800/37 remote control! Out of the box, the Philips Pronto TSU9800/37 can be used to control your Escient media server without ever turning on your TV — you can navigate the Escient user interface on the TSU9800/37's LCD touchscreen.
Lighting for any occasion
You knew that your home theater was complete the day you installed dimmable lighting. The Pronto TSU9800/37's pre-configured lighting control includes a full on-screen user interface for controlling lighting scenes, moods, and individual dimmers. On-screen feedback from lighting devices gives you full control over your home theater's ambience.
For advanced installaions
For advanced home theater installation applications, the Philips Pronto TSU9800/37 features ProntoScript. A JavaScript-based software, ProntoScript enables installers to create a dynamic two-way user interface for system control over RS-2332 or IP connections with full graphical flexibility. The tool is incorporated in the ProntoEdit Professional Software pre-loaded on the TSU9800/37. Ready-made ProntoScript modules with Pronto partners are available via the internet. For typical installations, you may opt to use standard installation reference files and simply re-assign the various components. More advanced JavaScript programmers will be able to create their own ProntoScript modules for complete system operation and feedback.
Chemistry 101 — Your TSU9800/37's ionic battery
Because your new Philip's TSU9800/37 is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, it brings you more than just incredible power. First, because lithium has the third lightest atomic mass of any element, lithium-ion batteries are some of the lightest batteries available. Second, Lithium-ion batteries have a lower loss-of-charge rate overall in comparison with other battery types and they do not suffer from 'memory loss' or a decline in total energy capacity. The lithium-ion battery featured on your TSU9800/37 brings you light-weight, long-lasting and reliable power.
Note
The Philips Pronto TSU9800/37 requires programming prior to use.
