I own a pair of these but did not buy them from Vanns. I will say first off, and you can probably tell from my ratings, that I am not entirely pleased with this product. Assembly was easy and straight forward enough but the whole thing just doesnt feel tight and solid enough. I am a fairly strong guy and believe me, the bolts are about as tight as they can go. The top plate is rather small. Keep in mind as you are choosing stands to try and get your tweeters to ear height, THESE STANDS ARE NOT 26 UNLESS YOU USE THE SPIKES! I have hardwood floors and used the supplied neoprene plugs which only brought the stand to about 25. By custom building some pads I was able to install the spikes. I had a hard time installing some of the plastic feet into which the spikes thread. The holes in the bottom plate dont line up well with the holes in the feet resulting in some cross-threaded machine bolts. When I installed the spikes the front inside spike on each stand seemed to angle out while the others are straight. This just does not look right or stable. I tried swapping around feet and switching positions to no avail. A lot of hassel taking these things apart and putting them back together again. This is just not right. I dont know if the base is bent or what. Also, for my floors anyway, there was not enought thread on the spikes or depth in the foot to get the speakers level. Annoying! The tubes are essentially sealed with only three very small holes in the top besides the one for the bolt. Seems like it would take a while to fill these things with sand, let alone shot with this amount of access to pour. There is no concealed wire path as the description states since the tubes are, as I stated, almost completely sealed. The wire management they do provide is the worst, I think, in the history of wire management. It is two, almost paper thin, peices of plastic, round on one end with a loop on the other, that you sandwich between the rear post and the base and top plate. This gives you two flimsy loops to guide your cable through. I had to use velcro to hold the cable in place and conceal it the best I could but I will be honest, it is not very visually appealing.
I would not recommend buying these and certainly would not buy any in the future myself. I will look to replace these down the road when the budget allows.

As for Vanns.com pricing was good as was the service and delivery. The product arrived in excellent condition and on the scheduled delivery date. Review date 09242012.

These are some of the best stands I have ever owned, rock steady and nice looking. I have paid twice as much for stands that were not half as good as these.

These are great stands -- well made, sturdy, easy to assemble, nice looking, great features.
Someone should fix the title of this item, though, because they are heavily textured matte black, which looks very nice, but its not gloss black. Who would want glossy stands, anyway?

These stands are a great deal for the money.
I placed them on a wood laminate floor - so I didnt use the spikes that were provided which look very nice.
These stands are much more than capable of holding my 12 pound speakers - just wish the top plate was more of a rectangle than a square.
The bottom stand rubber feet work well - but I replaced the top rubber inserts that the speaker sits on with some round 2 inch circular rubber pads that I bought cheaply at Home Depot.
I would buy these again & would suggest to a friend.

I bought Sanus SF26 speaker stands when I bought Polk Audio RTi A3 bookshelf speakers. These speakers ARE heavy and I didnt want to hook them up against the wall.
I was recommended these stands because of their low resonance and high stability even when the bookshelf speakers are loud enough to dance. I am so glad I took a decision to buy these brothers.
They come in a pair and the finishing touch is very aesthetic goes along with my speakers and TV stand.
A couple of tips
1 Fill the steel pillars with sand I bought general kind of sand from Lowes. It increases stability and speakers do not vibrate AT ALL.
2 Instead of mounting nails onto your speaker stands, use Velcro tapes with Industrial Strength. I rested my speakers on them and it turned out to be good solution to keep them safe from my 2 years old.
I had to tape my speaker wire using invisible scotch tape. In the beginning, I wish if there is a way to hide the cable, but now the nice blue color audioquest tape gives my speaker stands even more aesthetic value. Sometimes it is not much fun to hide everything from the view.
I will give these 5 stars.

These speaker stands are a very pleasant surprise. They are well made, and designed. They are quite good looking, made of materials that will last a long time. Add to the quality of the stands, they are very affordable. You could certainly spend more, and get less. I would recommend these stands to a friend.
