These are by far the best inner-ear buds you can buy, when you compare sound quality for price. I mean that part is a no-brainer. Three inter-changeable sizes almost guarantees a good isolating fit. When theyre in, you will get lost in the music. The bass and tremble balance is amazing. I also feel its easier to wear them for a longer period than a pair of earphones. I would suggest that these be the last ear-buds youll ever need, but I cant. Unfortunately, these sexy looking pieces of plastic are built to break. -\
I am currently on my THIRD pair, replaced under warranty through Vanns. Each time, the same thing happens. The black seal that holds the cord snug to the ear-bud splits. Once this happens, the cord becomes loose, and inevitiable disconnects inside—leaving you with NO sound. Personally, I think Klipsch is aware of this problem. These come with a 2-YEAR factory warranty. I dont think its enough.
CONSIDERATIONS
* This should go without saying, but ALWAYS grab and remove from the ear-buds themselves and NOT the cord. These are real easy to put in, but cumbersome to take out.
*DO NOT BUY if you plan on putting them in and taking them out dozens of times a day. They will break. The numbers are against you.
* Spend the extra $20 and get the MIC versions. Its worth it, especially if you ever listen to music off your phone
* Minor shocks are common. I used to wear these at my desk at work. At times, while re-adjusting my seating in the chair, Id get sensations of shocks from the ear-buds arcing with the little hairs on my ear! I know that sounds creepy and gross, but its really more of an annoyance than anything. Like little static shocks.
* ALWAYS KEEP THEM IN THE CASE WHEN NOT IN USE.

Been longing for these buds since they were announced in 09, finally got em here for a great price. The buds are stylish, comfortable, and the cord length is sufficient.
First thing I noticed for was that the ear tip cleaner was not included in my package, I had to look on YouTube at an unpacking video to see where the cleaner comes good thing this piece is not very important.
Ive owned a few sets of buds, these being the most expensive, previously i was using Senheisser CX300s. The first time using the s4s I disliked the sound, it was harsh, lacking depth, and the bass was nonexistent.
Following some general tips from head-fi.org I put the buds thru some burn in time, in my case, 40 hours of playing random music at 75 of my media players volume did the trick for me. After burning in the buds they now sound phenomenal.
The sound isolation in these is very good. bass is not overly present, but its always clear and not distorting as in skullcandys . I use these mainly with a Zune HD, and an original Zune 30 GB using these buds, it is clear that the older Zune has a better audio chip in my opinion.

Im no audiophile, and so much has already been said about these headphones, that Ill keep it simple -- these are my new go-to headphones. The sound definitely has a certain color, but for me, not overly bassy. The color for me has more to do w the sparkliness for lack of a technical term of the higher ranges. Ive never worn more comfortable headphones. I used the tips they came in, and they stay in my ears through my gym work outs. I bought them in both colors because I couldnt decide, and will be keeping them both.

First, I want to say that Vanns delivered just as promised. They always do. This is the fourth time I ordered from Vanns, and I always think of them first when I purchase electronics, and I always recommend them to anyone who mentions they are in the market for electronics.
Second, as far as the Klipsch earbuds are concerned, I must say I am disappointed. I was expecting a better sound quality. It might be my ears, but they do not fit well. I tried all three different silicone covers, but none of them seem to fit too well. I finally settled on one of the covers, but I have to put it in my ear and then turn it 90 degrees to get the full sound. I went strictly on the reviews when I bought these since it is kind of hard to audition a pair of earbuds anywhere.
I would not buy these again. I wish I could say they were great, but they do not compare to the quality of Klipsch loudspeakers. Just my opinion.

The sound quality loudness, bass is awesome - the best I ever had never bought $100s earphones. I can use lower volume setting 20 instead of 26 out of 30 on my MP3 player with these earphones as compared to all others I have used SkullCandy, Sony, Koss - all costing less than $40, except perhaps for the Sony that I got with the player and are really good, too.
Silicone bud selection is good but I had better seal with larger buds cheap SkullCaps - but thats me must have large ear canal.
They look really good white, and build quality is fantastic.

The only issue I have had is that when I run at times they can fall out. This is a very minor issue just make sure to securely seat the ear bud firmly before running. Out of all the earphones Ive tried under $100, this probably tops them all.
Im a musician, and whenever I study music I need to play, its important to me that everything is heard in detail. This earphone delivers that clarity from hi to low end.
One thing that makes this earphone somewhat different from in earphones is that it stays in your ears. Ive always had problems with in-ear phones wherein the would fall out from my arguably small ears.
One thing this earphone doesnt have though, is that it doesnt have a booming bass. It delivers a clear and punchy bass sound, but it doesnt give that sub-woofing quality that some other hardcore bass lovers might be looking for.

I have used the Klipsch Custom 3s for two years and they produce some of the best imaging I have experienced in earphones at any price. All of the Klipsch earphones use ellipsoid inserts which must be correctly inserted into your ear canals in order to produce the best bass. The S-4s are the least expensive, yet very high quality in their sound reproduction that I own. They also image as well as their more expensive cousins in the Klipsch earphone lineup such as their Custom 3s.They are not as laid-back or full bodied as the much more expensive multiple driver Shure SE530. The S4s have a tendency to get a bit shrill and uncontrolled at the frequency extremes if pushed. But for everyday use, commuting, and GYM use...the S-4s deserve to be placed at the top of your audition list for very affordable high-end earphones. I would not recommend the S4s for critical listening, but they are highly recommended over any earphone close to the $150 mark! I bought these for $59. Thats quite a sonic bargain!

When I first received the Klipsch S-4 headphones I was a bit disappointed with the sounds quality. However, I read a review that said that the headphones needed to be broken in for about 48 hrs for the audio quality to improve and after doing this the sound quality was truly brilliant.
These headphones sound so clear and transparent that one forgets that the sound is coming from such tiny little ear buds. Easily better than the shure in-ear headphones that I have tried of similar or higher price.
Fit
The fit of the supplied silicon ear pieces is also quite good with the oval shaped ear pieces, although I do wish that there was another size between the two larger ear pieces.
The little black rubber piece that holds together the two wires before they split has a little hole in it that works perfectly for putting a paperclip in, which can then be clipped the the neck of your shirt. With this little modification the headphones stay in place quite nicely even while running quickly, and you avoid the annoying sound of the cord hitting your body.

There are a lot of headphones that sound great but Ive used few that actually fit in my ear and stay there.
Ive used lots of in ear headphones only to be disappointing in the overall fit. These were going to be the final pair of ear-buds that I would buy. I was going to resort to using the apple supplied ear-buds until days end if these didnt fit properly. I have to say the kilpsch has a customer for life with these. Ive contemplated stocking up on multiple pairs in the event that they are discontinued. The s4s stay put and sound great.

I could not be more satisfied! The perfect addition to my player. The sound is crisp and very clear, with wonderful bass, treble, mid-tones, etc. Comfort of the ear buds is the best I have experienced also. I have tried four other brands, but these are by far, the best in sound and comfort. The noise isolation is just what I need for the work and busy home environment and is far better than the other brands I have had in the past.

Im in the AV industries and finding a in ear ear phone that satisfy my personal craving for good sound quality has been a challenge for me over the last 2 years... Ive since owned a Shure E2C, a Sony MDR-EX300SL, a Ultimate Ear SuperFi 4...all in the $70-$150 range... although they are good... earphone...is not something that u can really wow about... my hunt brought me to major IT shows.. tested many brands name like Audio Techinca, Creative, Sennheiser, Mosnster Beat...some ranging to $200.
Then I came across Cnet review on Klipsch image S4
At $79USD .. is a Cnet editor choice and best summer product of 2009.. makes me search more about this earphone..and almost all users rates it very high...4 -5 star.. I mean come on...at this price it cant be that good right? Well now that I have it and in special edition White color only available with Vanns ...i can now stand behind all the good rating ...This ear phone kick ASS..lol ok it rocks!! Ive throw it with any kind of music genre...from Linkin Park ..to Lady GaGa to Chicane to Deep Purple to Micheal Jackson..ok ok you got the point... the Bass is punching but not over bass low...the Mid vocal sound crystal clear and the High is all perfect.... it makes my goose bump stands when im able to hear the things Ive never hear before in the music...the small little details of the beat, the plucking of the guitar strings ....and the clarity of the vocal ...Is like u are sitting in a room with $10K Hi Fi system....Wow!! thats is my reaction for this earphone...
One more thing to consider is how comfortable this earphone is... the ear gels is oval-shaped instead of round ...and is patent by Klipsch..gives u the perfect seal that is noise cancellation...
So there you have it....the perfect earphone that is reasonably price and it sounds better then those in the $200 range...
Hooah!!! at last Im very Satisfy !!!

In the past Ive had various models of Ultimate Ears and Shure earbuds. In the last 2 years, Ive had Shures fail lose sound in one bud and physically break on me. Although I was a big fan of their sound, I decided to go a different direction. Having read all the reviews and doing my research, I settled on the Klipsch Image S4 earbuds. The sound quality is good in the mid-low ranges, high range is ok. They cancel out noise just as well as any other noice-cancelling earbuds Ive tried, and have the BEST fit Ive found. Theyre fairly light and small - the cord is adequate, not as thick as the Shures but that didnt stop the Shures from going bad in the end anyway but beefier than the UEs. The l-shaped plugjack is also unobtrusive as I keep my ipod in a case on a shoulder strap. The jacks on my old Shures were so big I had to cut out a part of my ipod case to get it to close properly.
All in all, Im pretty happy with the Image S4s - they look good, the sound is good enough certainly better than what you get included with an iPod or any other mp3 player, they seem like theyll hold up as well as any other earbuds, and I think the price youll pay for them is warranted.

I moved from Maximo iMetals IP-HS2 for the main reason that I was tired of the heavy imetals from falling out of my ears when I was walking. The Klipsch are nice and light, and they fit will so I dont have any worries about them falling out. The sound is clean, especially on the lower end where the bass is loud for an IEM but not boomy like so many in ears get. They are a great buy, once of the better options available in their price range.

I have owned and experienced many brands of head phones from Sennheiser, Sony, Bose, Audio Technica and styles arrange from open aired and closed-aired DJ style, earbuds, passive noise canceling and active noise canceling. DJ style-over the head sound good but too heavy and too warm when having on for a extended period. Active noise canceling like Sennheiser xc-250 sounds clear and with deep bass but the battery compartment is inconvenient to carry around. Audio-Technica ATHANC7 has build-in active noise canceling, but sounds little flat and get too hot when wearing for a longer period of time. Sennheiser cx300 is earbud type that has passive noise canceling. However, somehow, I do feel a little discomfort after wearing for a while. Therefore, I always on the journey to find a pair of nice headphones that is easy to carry around, wont get too hot, has the noise isolation capability, and most important of all, clean sound and deep bass.
Here I have the solution, Klipsch S4. It is very comfortable in my ears for a long period of time I have tried over 2 hours. Also, it looks very attractive. I know they are more expensive headphones in $200 - $500 category. However, for $80 retails, this is the best headphones for me.

There are bunch of in-ear headphones out there in these days. But I will say this is the best one under $150.
When I saw this product on the internet it looked little bit ugly but It looks really nice in person. The silicon tips are very soft and very comfortable in ears..
The sound quality is just amazing. it gives well balanced sound. Clean and sharp high range, moderate mid range and plentiful but not overwhelmed bass sound.
This is not a noise-canceling headphone but noise-isolating works pretty good. Not perfect but good enough to hear every details of music without noises.
You cant go wrong with this headphone. I highly recommend it.

Klipsch is prestigious for its high ends lines, but S4 is part of their new and more affordable lines. But I think its a VERY good introduction for those who are not familiar with Klipsch.
As a guy with some experience with various earbuds, I bought some for myself and my friends when Vanns put S4 on sale. The shipping was fast, but the shipping is a little long for my burning anticipation. However considering the distance its acceptable anyway.
The pair is solid built cable is a little thin to my liking though, coming with every accessory and nicely built too you need, such as different sleeves, a clean tool and carrying case.
Its small, light, but fits nicely and securely, and thus comfortable when put em on. The isolation is also satisfactory, albeit not the best in its league.
Coming to the core, the sound, S4 is pleasant surprising, exceeding my high expectations, . As many professional or audiophile reviews points out, S4 offers a sound quality that is on par with quite more expensive products. The listener experience is almost neutral, with decent bass and treble, and a slight emphasis on the mids. Details are clear, and one can actually feel the music is around you.
Overall, I like S4 a lot. Could be a great option to consider if youre looking for earbuds that are both excellent with sound quality and worth your hard earned money.

It is easy to say that these buds outmatch any other noise isolator ear buds in this price range. very clear trebles and sweet bass makes for a great listening experience despite what genre you want your headphones tailored to.
My criticisms are minor and correlate with other reviews found online. The cable is a little cheap feeling when compared to the likes of shure and sonys high end buds, but has not caused me any problems. The L-shaped 3.5mm jack sits a little taller than most, and thus tends to wiggle and is susceptible to being bent in rough situations. This being said Im accustomed to sonys very low profile L shaped jacks, so resolved this simply by using a sony cable extension.
Give these klipschs a little time to burn in, and youre sure to get your 90 bucks worth.

Klipssh S4s are probably the best in-ear buds Ive owned. I am very picky about how my audio sounds, mostly Prog metal and classics. The S4s have just about everything right if you can get the right fit. I recommend wearing them over your ears. These buds need about 24 hrs burn in, though. Once thats done, the bass sounds tight, the mids flow seamlessly and the treble is just right.
I also own the Woodees in-ear buds that are half the price of this one thats are pretty close in performance, but the Klipsch edges them out slightly.
Highly recommended.

I have only used them a few times now, but the sound is very good for earbuds. The sound isolation is also quite good. What is most amazing is the clear bass, that is the toughest thing for earbuds to achieve.
The only drawback is that I would prefer to be able to use them under my motorcycle helmet, and I am sure they will not work because they stick out and will come off when I put on the helmet. But that is not a requirement, so I didnt mark them down for that.

After breaking these in for over 200 hours and then listening to them I am really impressed. The first thing I noticed was the amazing isolation they gave from the outside world. I put them in my ear at a moderate volume and then put my closed ATH-M50s over them at a pretty high volume. I couldnt hear anything coming from the cans, I only felt the bass on my ears. Now onto the sound quality.
The bass isnt overpowering like some other IEMs with this kind of isolation. Mids are well balanced, as are the highs. Very enjoyable when listening to FLAC files on a portable player. A bit power hungry, definitely improve with an amp but its not necessarily needed.
Overall, I am very impressed by these and would purchase them again.

The length of the wire is perfect for anyone. The earbuds comfort is one of the best part with very comfortable and soft silicone buds. When i insert my earbuds without playing the music most of the sound coming from outside is cutoff. Also the clarity of the music is awesome. I gave all my earbuds to my friends. When I purchased this headphones I thought I had given more money, I got it for 59$ from Vanns. Awesome deal. The look of the earbuds is really good. Disclaimer... I am by no means an audiophile...
after running over my cx300IIs with my car, and a faulty wire on my cx300s it was time to see what $30 in ear headphones would sound like. WHAT A SURPRISE. these headphones sound incredible and still keep up with the cx300s massive bass. I tried the bose headphones as well but did not find it any better than cx300s.
These headphones were definitely worth paying 2x more and maybe one day ill say the same about the Shure 530s. Get it!

I love the design so much. They fit comfortably in the ear and they come with a case and several different sizes of in ear plastic. The sound is incredible. The sound is clear. Indeed these do an excellent job of isolating outside noise based upon the precise fit of the ear pieces. The cord is the perfect length for me as well. Now I absolutely replace the original Apples headphones to this.

Love the headphones, love Klipsch! I am quite picky when it comes to the highs and lows regarding frequency spectrum but these headphones speced at 10Hz-19kHz definitely get the job done. One of my biggest concerns before purchasing was if the headphones would stay in my ear securely while working out or doing cardio, turns out they work perfect the light weight and oval shape makes them very comfortable and secure. My only concern is how durable they will be, in Klipschs effort to make the headphones light they used a very small gauge wire which make them more vulnerable, but I am only speculating right now. If your choice is between these and the Bose in ear head phones, go with the Klipsch S4s! Less Expensive, More Comfortable, More Secure, Better!

I have several pairs of IEM headphones including Klipsch custom 2s. A month ago I bought Klipsch S4s as my everyday easy in and easy out headphones. If you wear IEMs alot you know what I mean. They have great reviews online and get much praise. Here is the truth, they do sound good for most applications like classic rock, rap, and R@B. They are great in the mid-range for speech and everyday wear. My Custom 2s are better should be due to the 2 drivers compaired to the S4s one Let the headphones burn in with a constant repeating CD of what ever music you like at a middle volume for improved low end sound.
They are comfortable to wear and easy to get in the ear and out. Are slightly curved and the writing goes toward the back as you are wearing them. They are smaller then they appear and I can wear them laying down on a pillow for all of you night time music listeners. However not as small as something like the Steins CX300400 but I think they make up for it in sound especially in the mid range. They have a tangle-free cord by having it made out of more slick plactic compaired to some fabric wrapped phones that I own. these always have a blow out sooner or later
Overall a good buy and quite stylish in the white or black with silver accents even though mostly contains plastic and very little real metal this also keeps them light in the ears. These are the hot IEMs in early 2010.

Ok, when you think Klipsch that conjures up an image of a high-end speaker company, right? So it seems logical that headphones made by this company would be top notch. Well simply put these were not. The sound was tinny and only mediocre at best when inserted deep into the ear. I tried them with multiple sources all with the same result.
If youre thinking of buying these, first try an experiment - put your fingers in your ears then breath deep, or swallow - annoying, huh? Thats the same experience you get with these phones. Up until now Ive always used cheap phones and figured it was time for a quality upgrade - these however were so annoying that unless you like the feeling of pressure on your eardrums at 10,000 feet and hearing yourself breath over your music save your money.

Ive had these headphones for about 2 weeks now, and I love them so far. My previous headphones were Apple in-ear headphones newest gen which had awesome treble but lacked bass and mid-range clarity. This is where Klipsch S4 shines. They might not be as clear as the Apple headphones in treble but the mid range and bass are much better than the Apple headphones. At first I was kind of shocked at the lack of clarity in the treble of the S4s I was expecting something closer to the Apples but the more I listened with the S4, the more I loved them. What got me was the balance. The Apple headphones focused on bass and treble, which was good, but the S4 focuses on bass and mid-range while still retaining exceptional treble.
That said, she S4 is much more balanced and clear in the bass mid range i.e. the bass lines are much better in the S4 than the Apple headphones and the treble isnt overpowering. If you need a lot of treble, go with the Apple headphones. Otherwise, the S4 will be perfect.
The bottom line if you are looking to upgrade your headphones and want balanced headphones with a slight emphasis on bass and midrange, then the Klipsch S4 will be perfect for you.
About me most of my music consists of contemporary Christian rock, alternative rock, and a lil bit of hip-hop rap, and the Klipsch S4 compliments all of them very well

I recently had two pairs of Etymotic earbuds ER-6i & ER 4 and was very happy with the sound quality and noise isolation but both pairs ultimately experienced a broken connection where the wire entered the earbud, rendering them useless. So with a $100 price ceiling I decided to research different brands and came across the Klipsch reviews. I can say the S4s blew me away with their significantly better base response that either of the Etymotics in fact I had to turn off the bass boost on my ipod - not needed! and trebel response is excellent as well. I did a side by side comparison when these arrived, changing between the two brands when listening to a variety of music and hands down, the Kilpsch performance is better. Crisp highs, and booming bass. And these were less expensive than either of the Etymotics. My only small complaint is the 2-tier silicon ear inserts that go into the ear canal are not quite as noise tight as the 3-tier inserts from the Etymotics and you lose a little of the bass depth if the insertion does not create an airtight seal. Unfortunately, these components are not interchangeable with the Etymotics. I am experimenting with the alternate silicon inserts that were provided and in fact might research finding a third party replacement component, but this is a relatively minor issue I only experience when working out with significant body movement. And may only be relative to my specific ear canal shape or size. I like an airtight fit firmly in the ear canal. Other than that minor issue, I highly recommend these ear buds if you want the most amazing sound possible from your device at an excellent price point. There is no point even comparing these two to the variety of Apple, Sony, or other brands I have experimented with in the past. I have spend way more $$ over time on ear buds and headphones than I have on ipods!. And at a price point well below my ceiling, these babies deliver in spades!

first, overall they are great headphones. i read hundreds of reviews and tried on many different types of headphones in the $50 to $200 range before purchasing these. I am very pleased with the quality of the headphones so long as you find the tips that provide a good seal with your ear. they came with three different types of tips and one of the three should be great for just about everyone. they have a good length cord, you will not find yourself hunched over trying to listen to music because of an stupidly short cord. this is of course standard with most high quality headphones but you never know.
the sound quality blows all other in ear headphones in the same price range completely out of the water. as far as depth of sound range, i looked up best songs to test bass on google, listened to a few and it could comfortably hit every low note in all the songs. you will not find this in cheap headphones under $65. however, they didnt exactly CRANK OUT BASS. the quality of the sound doesnt go down on the lower sounds but if you want a set of in ear headphones with extremely powerful bass look elsewhere and in a much higher price range.
it is a given that you should take care of more expensive headphones seeing as all headphones will short if you abuse the cord. these are no exception. the carrying case is small and compact for convenient transportation and for protection from headphone abuse when not in use.
i did notice that lower quality music in my library was less enjoyable to listen to because when constantly being played in comparison to higher quality more KBS music, the difference with these headphones is much more noticeable. however, this is only an example of the quality of the headphones.
please read other reviews from people comparing these headphones with other brands bose, ultimate ears, etc. and dont simply take my word for it.

Overall Im quite impressed with these headphones. I was debating getting a pair of Shure 2-series IEMs but these had a better price-point. Id looked around on Amazon and other sites for reviews, these had pretty favorable ones.
The seal of these is good, its not as sound-proof as the more expensive foam ear-plugs, but still, better then the cheap set I upgraded from.
The cord has an odd feel to it, hopefully itll last a while but who knows. It does produce some sound from conductance, but again, much better then the cheaper phones I upgraded from.
Bass is deep and rich, not overpower, what Id expect. The mid-range is somewhat mellow, not as rich warm as Id hoped...sometimes a bit tinny. Again, as well with all IEMs you need to make sure youve got a good fit in your ear I had to use the largest inserts for that, for other phones, the middle inserts were big-enough, that might be something to consider if youre already using the biggest inserts in your current phones. Still, once these got in right, they sound great.

When people first here of how much these are, theyre initial reactions will probably be, EIGHTY BUCKS FOR A PAIR OF EARPHONES?! Are you insane?!
No. Well, a little bit. When it comes to music, I do tend to become a little obsessive compulsive. My audiophile obsession began in high school when ipods just started to come into existence and they came paired with those terrible canal-type earphones. You know, the kind that you can pick out from a mile away. The ones that you cant turn a corner without seeing someone with those circular whites with white cables dangling from ones ears into their pockets. This is where my journey began.
After mine eventually broke down, I was in the market for new ones and I was introduced into the world of QUALITY earphones and headphones. Ive heard everything from those cheapo Skullcandies that have slowly permeated throughout the young crowd to the top-of-the-line earphones from each company. $500 Shure SE530s, $400 Ultimate Ears Triple.Fi 10pros, Klipsch Image X10s, and the list goes on. Considering the fact that my earphones are what connects me to my music several hours a day, I need a pair of earphones that are portable, sturdy, comfortable, and provide high fidelity sounds. I loved the sound signature of my Klipsch Image X10s, but was afraid of losing them so was in the market for a backup pair. And this is where the S4s come in...
I tried a pair my friend had, and my initial impression was, Wow. These are pretty sweet. Comparing them side to side with my top-of-the-line Klipsch Image X10s, there wasnt too big of a difference. The S4s were developed after the X10s, and a true audiophile can tell that the technology used in the X10s were trickled down to the S4s. They dont look as nice or sound perfect as the X10s do, but they are also a quarter of the price. The connection points between the cable and the earphones and the cable and the jack are the most sensitive parts and carefully analyzing these two areas, Klipsch sure did their homework when developing these. If one wants to experience out of this world sound for the first time, try these. And youll be hooked. Hooked to the earphones, hooked to the Klipsch company, hooked to music how it was meant to be heard. Yeah, theyre $80, but think of it as an investment. An investment that will provide you years of joy.

For $80, you wont find a better pair of earphones. Sound quality-wise these, in my opinion, are much better than the Ultimate-Ears Super.fi 5Pro and those are in the ~$150 range. For the everyday user, you wont hear much of a difference between these and some top-of-the-line earphones. Whenever thats the case, the Value is going to be rated a 5. For sho.
Performance 4
Only reason I am rating the performance a 4 is because there are better earphones out there made. But youre going to have to dish out a couple Benjamins to buy those.
Overall Rating 5
Klipsch is relatively new to the earphone segment, but theyve been around producing audiophile products for other applications for AGES! One of the best companies when it comes to sound. They definitely know their stuff. Their one and only focus is sound so they can dedicate all their time and resources into their audio products opposed to a company like Sony, where theyre so diverse trying to do everything.
Would I recommend this product?
Whole-heartedly. You will not be disappointed. Guaranteed.
--
Also, Id like to take some time to praise vanns.com on their super-quick customer service. I left a comment before I even received this product due to how surprised I was right after I ordered. Within 24 hours, I received multiple emails stating that they received my order, that they processed my order, and that they shipped out my order. All within several hours. I order a lot of things online, and never was I once shocked at how quick their service was as I was this time around. Will definitely be coming back again to buy from them again.

I am a loyal Etymotic 6i user but those buds died after one year and after blowing through 3 of them in 3 years I thought I would try these. The audio performance is equal to the Etymotics though the earbuds of the S4 are not quite as grippy as Id like. My only real complaint is the right earbud seems to transmit static electricity which creates small electric shocks in my inner ear depending on the clothing i wear. The shocks are not painful but annoying. This doesnt happen all the time but seems to happen when Im walking and my iPod is rubbing against my clothes in some way. Holding the iPod in my hand seems to prevent these shocks.

Ive always had issues with in ear headphones having too big tips to properly fit into my ears, necessitating I forcibly shove them into the area. This results in pressure, discomfort, and eventual misshaping of the earbud tips.
Again, these earphones are excellent *ONLY* if you have smaller ear canals. If you do not, you will not get a great seal.
The first week I attempted to just plug these into my ears as I had my previous earbuds Etymotic ER6i and was disappointed as they continuously fell out the largest tips were too big and the two smaller tips were too small.
Since then, Ive routing the cable over my ear and inserting the earbud upside down. For me, this is fantastic, I get a great seal and the earbuds stay in place. The bass is excellent, better than the Etymotics, and acoustically speaking almost as good.
Im not certain if this is the intended use, but its perfect for me.
I love the cable length since my iPhone slips deeply into my pockets, so this length allows me to move my head around without any tugging on the cable. I do wish the headphone plug was a straight design instead of a 90 degree bend, but thats the only complaint Id have.
Pros Excellent seal, comfortable fit, extra long cable length, good audio reproduction.
Cons 90 degree plug bend.

If you are looking for a pair of in-ears which has a solid bass, your looking at it.
The S4 in-ears are by far the best high-end bass enhanced in-ear monitors which I have ever come across. The bass feedback which I experienced with the S4 is not like any other in-ear monitors.
My previous in-ears had a strong bass but it was the kind of boomy bass which a lot of other brands are producing for their bass enhanced in-ear monitors.
But when I plugged the S4 into my ears, I was totally blown off by the sensitivity, bass and sharpness. It was sensitive enough to force me to lower my volume by 10 on my ipod when I was still using my previous in-ears. The bass was really rock solid, not the boomy bass which I experienced with other in-ears. The sharpness of the S4 too surprised me as I thought that usually bass enhanced in-ear monitors would have to sacrifice the clarity for bass enhancement.
So if you mostly listen to music with heavy bass or if you prefer bass enhancement over clarity then your search is over. Surrender to the system

Bottom Line - These earphones arent as crisp on the highs and lows as my old Etymotic ER6i. I would return it, except Ive already used part of the free $15 iTunes gift card that came with them. Ugh!
I accidently snagged my Etymotic ER6i wires, so theyre pretty much gone though Ive had those for over 5 years. I have read many good reviews on the Klipsch Image S4, so I decided to buy the white ones which can only be found at Vanns.
The earpieces did not fit in my ear very well, so I used foam tips that I had left over from my Etymotics, and that made it MUCH more comfortable for me to wear my ear canals are on the smaller side. I had a chance to use these earphones this past weekend on a flight from SEA-EWR and back. The first hour was okay, though the sound quality really isnt as impressive as my old Etymotics. But after an hour, the earphones didnt sit as comfortable, and I think this is because they are heavier than what Im used to many reviews say these are light and small, but they are bigger and heavier if youre coming from Etymotic. They became a bit uncomfortable to keep in my ear.
These earphones are such a disappointment, but I guess you really do get what you pay for. I should have stuck with Etymotic....

All the ambient noise is gone and I just get to enjoy my music. I also use these with an Aviom setup at my church and they are perfect for that as well. I was initially worried about the enhanced bass overpowering the rest of the sound but it has a good balance. I cannot speak highly enough about the comfort and quality of these headphones. They do not feel like in-ear headphones and I can comfortably wear them for hours.
Many people have commented about the cable being too thin. The cable for the S4 is similar to the ipodiphone cables but a little more flexible.
The white color is also very attractive. Thanks Vanns for the exclusive color, fast processingshipping, and great deal on these awesome headphones!

I bought these headphones to replace my *second* pair of earbud headphones that I got from Apple - not the standard iPod headphones, but their fancy, dual-driver pair. After the second set stopped working I suspect because of the inline remote I bought these because I read some good reviews of them online and my coworker had just bought a pair.
The sound quality is quite impressive for the purchase price. With the Apple headphones, I had to crank up the volume all the way. With these, I actually have to turn it down! The bass is great and the distinction between the highs and the lows is really clear.
As for the fit....well, I have a confession I have big ears. Earbud headphones dont always stay in my ears well, but these actually stay put pretty well. I think its the kinda weird bend they have in them - but they dont really move once Ive put them in. They fit snugly and are comfortable to wear.
All in all, Im glad that I got these and will be taking very good care of them.

Mids and highs are good, but it took some EQ tweaking to get these levels just right. I was hesitant to give this all 5s because they dont have a category for fit or durability. The fit is great, my slight greivance is that I was use to the Shures above the ear, behind the neck design when working out. Cant do that with these. In fact, its exposed many of the shortcomings in quality of the music that I have on my mp3 player you can hear the snaps, crackles and gaps in many of the lower quality downloads.
And believe the hype about the soft ear cushions. By far the most comfortable earphones Ive ever worn. Wore them straight through on a 13-hour flight without any soreness.

You have 2 tpyes of reviews for these headphones either people seem to really like them or really hate them. Well I havge to say there are by far the best earbuds I have ever used. Sound is great , these things can pump out the bass without covering up the mids and highs. To me the amount of bass is perfect. Newer stuff like boom boom pow has as much bass as my car audio system has. Older music like the beatles sounds perfect. Listening to the remastered tracks I can hear things I never picked up with my old earbuds. The only other thing I look for in a pair of earbuds is fit. The S4s are by far the most comfortable ear buds I have ever used. After 5 minutes of having them in I dont know they are there. I would caution people against using these earbuds in the gym or for those that like to run. Because of the
noise islation all the movements you make are amplified. It is like having your ears plugged with water. Make sure you try out the different sized ear peices each can change the sound. Find the one that fits best and sounds best,.

First of all, before I get flamed by diehard Shure fans, I do own both earbuds and love them both for their differences... I have read reviews where folks have commented about Klipsch S4 not having enough bass... you must have gotten a defective one, because this pair runs circles on Shures top-of-the-line SE530s which is also 4x more expensive!. Granted, Shures target range has always been mids, on which they have no equal, and their bass have been sufficient... But this model of Klipsch is nothing less than outstanding!! Sweet, clear mids, thumping exact bass without being overwhelming - none of those vibrating rattles you get from less-quality earbuds because the drivers could not handle hi-volume bass... oh and did I mention clarity? I started hearing noises on songs I have been listening to for years, for the first time - The Zombies The Way I Feel Inside got downright creepy - hearing Colin Bluntstones final sigh right before he uttered the first verse, after walking up to the studio mics wooden floorboards on his cuban heels - man, that is priceless!! I actually use my S4s more than I do my SE530s... in fact, its my iPod Touchs daily partner... The only thing that Klipsch can do better is perhaps the construction - wires are a bit thin, which could be an issue if you use it regularly - I got around this little problem by slathering the stress points with liquid electric tape, which someone from an audiophile forum once suggested.... And for the price, especially at the exceptional value Vanns sells them? Youd be insane to pass on them, especially all you nutty audiophiles! So yes, do get them if you value every listening moment as an experience for the soul... and I listen to every genre, from the eras of Nat King Cole and Elvis Presley, to the Stones and the Beatles, to Led Zeppelin and Metallica, to Depeche Mode and LL Cool J.. You dont have to take my word for it - go out and try them, please! There is a reason stores run out of stock on these... and youd be lucky to find them as low as the offering in Vanns - Thank You Vanns! -

And, they seat perfectly in my ear canals when I have the wires pointed straight upward. Then, I loop the wires behind my ears. I can wear these things for hours at a time with no discomfort.
Im very careful in handling the wires, though, because they seem rather flimsy to me.

The Klipsch image S4 earbuds are really great . had a pair of bose earbuds but I hated the way they fit. These earbuds fit great, you dont even remember you have them on The sound Quality is great, Great Bass and really good with the highs also. I would definitely recommend these to anyone. The price was really good for what I call really high end sound.

I purchased these earbuds because I had an upcoming 12 hour flight and wanted to able to block out the noise of the plane. They worked great, I couldnt hear the people next to me having a conversation and they sound amazing, better then I could of hoped for. You get a deep and full sound, listening to my music with these earbuds as opposed to the generic Apple headphones that come with an Ipod takes the listening experience to a whole new level. I highly recommend these earbuds at any price.

I have gone through so many ear buds in the past three years I lost count. They were mostly in the $20-$30 range and did not sound all that good. For overall quality, nothing I have experienced so far can compare with the Klipsch Image S4. After finding the right ear bud size, and turning the music on, I forgot I was wearing anything at all. The sound quality is truly astonishing. I feel like I am experiencing all of my favorite songs for the first time. If you thoroughly enjoy listening to music and arent put off by in ear headphones, these are the ones to buy.
Side note- The sound quality improves over time. It may not sound perfect at first because a burn in period is necessary. Simply let music play through the headphones for an extended period of time. They will continue to improve with use.

I love that I got these earbuds. Ive spent so much money buying cheap earbuds at walmart and stables and have spent twice as much in a year then it cost for this pair. The sound is amazing and the tips fit very well in my ear. The only issue I have is the putting them away and getting them out. That tin is a little big to take around everywhere, but as I want my product to last as long as possible Im doing it right.
Very much worth it.

In the past i have used shure over $100 noise isolatingreducing earphones and they pale in comparison to the klipsch s4. They are extremely lightweight I sometimes forget that Im wearing them, have superb sound quality and are very comfortable. But i highly recommend the break in period recommended 20 hours but i found it to be less than that, possibly around 10 before judging them. They have a sort of tinny sound quality to them before they reach the rich sound with a fabulous bass. However the sizes of the interchangeable buds are extreme. I am in a situation where the small buds are way too small and the medium buds are slightly too large - but not a problem. The wire is very thin and lightweight and may appear that it is not sturdy, but so far it has been perfect. The carry case the earbuds comes with is very cheap and to me is not a very effective way to carry them. The s4 also comes with a much needed earwax cleaner. Overall a very solid product and Im very pleased with them.
Pros Lightweight, excellent qualitybetter than a lot of more expensive earphones, very effective noise reductionisolation, earwax cleaner, and pretty rugged
Cons Cheap carrying case, little choice for earbud sizes and fragile appearance but they are actually not fragile

Since its not really practical to try out earbuds in a store, I researched the best earbuds under $100 and found the Klipsch Image S4.
I havent ever purchased quality earbuds, so I wasnt sure what to expect, but I was very surprised and impressed when I got them.
The sound quality is excellent. I cant hear background noise going on around me when I listen, and the music is crisp and clear. I can also hear a lot more in my music such as someone moving around in the studio during the recording - there is added depth to the sound itself.
The fit of the earbuds is okay. I havent really tried to run with them in Im not sure they would stay in my ears. But they do come with three different sized covers to fit your ears. I use the largest and they are a comfortable fit.

After going through nearly a dozen pairs of various Sony earbuds in the last 4-5 years, each time breaking in a unique way, I finally decided to buy a superior headphone. After searching the web, these Klipsch earbuds continually came out at the top of lists and unlike a few of their counterparts, werent absurdly expensive particularly when I got them on Black Friday. After listening through a mediocre source - an iPod Classic - I was sold. The resolution and depth on these are really outstanding from such a tiny earbud. Comparing them to stock iPod headphones, you begin to appreciate just how much you were missing. Bass is not in short supply and is clean and tight. In short, these headphones are probably best described as balanced and clean - they just sound great. As far as durability goes, they feel solid and the silicone buds do not easily come off so losing them is less of a problem than with some other buds. Overall, a great buy and one Im very glad I made

I have used a wide variety of in-ear, on-ear and over-ear headphones. These are by far, for the money, the best value in headphones on the market today. They are very comfortable, to the point almost not realizing you have them inserted. The sound quality is unmatched. As good as my old Bose, but for a lot less money. They were recommended by a friend and I am glad I took their advice Looking forward to many years of service.

prior to purchasing these earphones, ive also owned a pair of etymotic ER-6i s and a pair of Shure S-4 s. i was slightly disappointed at the sound of the klipsch because they were the first pair to have dual drivers. At the same time, they are a very good pair of pieces and have the most bass of the three. the etymotics had the most clarity, the shures more balance. overall, i am happy with my purchase, although the cords are a little thin and i worry that they wont last more than a couple years because of wear and tear i use mine everyday and also during commutes.

I own several earbud and other sound reduction headphones that I use regularly while I travel, exercise, etc. These earphones have proven to be the most versatile and comfortable headphones and provide the best all around sound quality at a price the fraction of what I have paid for larger, more cumbersome headphones with lower sound quality. Their convenient size and well designed carrying case make the purchase of Klipsch Headphones well worth the purchase.

These earbuds were a preorder item that I preordered in June. When Vanns got them in stock they were shipped out very fast and only took a short time before they arrived on my doorstep. Well the wait was definately worth it! These little earbuds perform as advertised! And for the price compared to other highend earbuds these are the best bang for your buck! Comfortable fit, Great Lows, Great Mids, Great Highs! Just plain GREAT EARBUDS! Im plan on purchasing a second pair for my wife in the near future.
