The SUPH1 SIRIUS Universal Plug and Play Home Kit is a compact docking cradle that positions the receiver for easy viewing and operation. These are the SIRIUS radio models that work with the home kit: Sportster 3 (SP3-TK1), Sportster 4 (SP4-TK1), Starmate 3 (ST3-TK1), Starmate 4 (ST4-TK1), and Stratus (SV3-TK1). Designed for quick and easy self-installation, the kit has all necessary cabling to connect your SIRIUS receiver to your home audio system. The kit includes a compact tabletop/desktop docking cradle with FM output for wireless connectivity, an audio cable for connection to any stereo bookshelf system, an adjustable indoor/outdoor windowsill antenna with 20 feet of cable, and an AC adapter. |
Location, Location, Location |
When installing the docking station in your home, choose a location close to your home entertainment system, and also where the cable from the indoor/outdoor antenna can reach the docking station. The location should be easily accessible and provide good visibility of the display, and should not be located where it will be in direct sunlight that will affect the visibility of the display screen. You also need to decide whether to connect your docking station to your home entertainment system using the provided audio cable, or use the FM transmitter to broadcast the satellite signal wirelessly to your home FM radio. If your receiver is a plug and play model other than the Sportster 3 or Sportster 4, you may need to install the included spacer on the docking station. To ensure consistent reception of the SIRIUS signal in your home, it is important that the antenna be oriented correctly. For the best reception, put the antenna outside on the roof, with a clear 360 degree view of the sky. You can also put the antenna outside a window, mount it on the side of the house, or inside a window. If you live in major city, you may be able to put the antenna inside your house because terrestrial transmitters are used to boost signal strength. |
